tzdb
Section: Server
Default Value: 1, 0 (see description)
Valid Values: 1, 0
Changes Take Effect: Immediately
Dependencies: [auth] configuration
Introduced: 8.5.214.08
Specifies whether or not WFM time zones are converted to standard IANA time zones.
The default value for this option depends on the [auth] configuration:
- If [auth] is not configured, the default value is 0.
- If [auth] is configured the default value is 1. If you want to keep using Genesys time zones in this configuration, value should be explicitly set to 0.
When this option default is 1 (enabled), WFM time zones (and time zone assignments for business units, sites, etc.), are automatically converted to Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) time zones, and no longer synchronize with Genesys time zones. When this option default is 0 (disabled), WFM time zones are not converted to IANA time zones.
Time zone conversion is done by using a JSON mapping file (tzmap.json) that can be modified, if necessary.
provider
Section: auth
Default Value: ""
Valid Values: "", wfm
Changes Take Effect: After restart
Dependencies: [Server] tzdb. See Important note in this option
Introduced: 8.5.214.08
Specifies the provider that performs WFM user authentication.
If this option value is set to:
- "" (empty string)—WFM Server SOAP API authenticates WFM users.
- wfm—WFM Server REST API (on-premises) authenticates WFM users. Such configuration influences default value of tzdb option which controls time zones usage.
Dimension Tables
This topic describes the Dimension tables in the Workforce Management (WFM) ETL Database schema. To view the details in each table click the table name (for example, WFM_BU or WFM_SITE) in the TOC on the right side of this page.
For a description of the abbreviations used in these tables, see Abbreviation of Database Terms.
When to use IANA time zones
The IANA_TIMEZONE column in the WFM_BU and WFM_SITE tables supports Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) time zones in WFM business units and sites.
When the [auth] provider configuration option is set to wfm in the WFM Server Application, WFM switches from using proprietary time zones (synchronized with Genesys Configuration Server) to standard IANA time zones ( see Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA)). Also, the ETL column TIME_ZONE_KEY associated with BUs and sites becomes NULL as this key represents Configuration Server’s time zone assignment, which WFM no longer uses.
If you are using WFM's classic Forecast UI, you can disable IANA time zones in WFM and restore the previous time zone functionality by setting the [Server] tzdb option value to 0 in the WFM Server Application. However, if you are using WFM's latest Forecast UI, it requires IANA time zones.
