Resolved Issues
This release contains the following resolved issues:
This release includes security fixes related to potential Apache Log4j vulnerabilities (CVE-2021-410, CVE-2019-17571). In particular, Log4j 1.2.17 has been replaced with reload4j 1.2.20. (PLT-8376)
The Pulse Advisors dashboards now show the correct time after Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins. Previously, the dashboards sometimes remained on Standard/Daylight Time after DST start/end. The mechanism for daylight-saving time change has been decoupled from the Advisors application cycles; it now depends on additional autonomous Oracle scheduler jobs that run only at the date of the actual change. (PLT-8367)
Occasional stoppages can occur during metadata updates if the database does not have sufficient memory allocated. To reduce memory consumption and the occurrence of update-related stoppages, Pulse Advisors now performs scheduled metadata updates in isolation from real-time data processing and from manual metadata updates performed from the Administration module. For information about best practices concerning swap space and memory, see About swap space. (PLT-8364)
Pulse Advisors now identifies and automatically clears, on runtime, scheduler jobs that became unresponsive due to environment issues. This allows the application to proceed with data processing without manual intervention. Previously, non-responsive jobs had to be cleared manually in the Oracle database. (PLT-8361, PLT-8354)
Performance improvements have been made: metadata updates now occur only with the frequency configured for scheduled metadata updates. Previously, the number of metadata updates could be close to or equal to the number of import cycles, which impacted performance. (PLT-8356)
