What's New
This release contains the following new features and enhancements:
- WebChat widget now exposes a new parameter, maxMessageLength to limit the length of messages sent during a chat session.
- Added a new webchat configuration option, disableWebSockets to enable and disable the use of websockets when connecting to GMS via CometD.
- WebChat CometD configuration option now arranges all WebChat CometD options inside an object named cometD. This provides a more organized, and easy to understand set of options specific to cometD in WebChat. See WebChatService Configuration for more details.
Resolved Issues
This release contains the following resolved issues:
If the WebChat Widget in cometD mode loses and then re-establishes the connection to Genesys Mobile Services (GMS) during an active chat session, customers no longer need to refresh the page with the Widget in order to see agent messages. Previously in this scenario, customers might see only their own messages and not messages from the agent, until they refreshed the page. (CXW-907)
The WebChat Widget in cometD mode now supports file uploads during the chat session. Previously, enabling cometD in WebChat disabled support for file upload. (CXW-876)
Upgrade Notes
An upgrade to release 8.5.007.03 is required in order for cometD configurations to work properly within WebChatService.
