What's New

This release contains the following new features and enhancements:

  • SIP Endpoint SDK for OS X now can report SDK operational data to applications. For more information, refer to Reporting Operational Data. (SEPSDK-2637)
  • SIP Endpoint SDK now detects voice activity in incoming and outgoing audio streams. One-way Audio and No Audio conditions can be detected at the application level. (SEPSDK-2636)
  • SIP Endpoint SDK now captures video from iPhones (or other iOS devices) when connected to an agent desktop with a Lightning connector. No special configuration is required and connected iOS devices will appear in the list of video capture devices automatically.
Important
Known limitation: If the aspect ratio of the requested capture resolution does not match the aspect ratio of the attached iOS device screen, the remote video will be cropped. To avoid the cropping:
  • Select the proper capability when starting a capture session for the iOS device.
  • Change that capability when the device is rotated from portrait to landscape or vice versa.
Although it is possible to adjust capture parameters automatically (based on the actual frames received), SIP Endpoint SDK does not do that. That functionality can be added to the application code as it has full access to frame size notifications (and to all video frames, if an external renderer is used). (SEPSDK-2618)

Resolved Issues

This release contains the following resolved issues:

SIP Endpoint SDK now correctly accepts the best-effort SRTP offer (RFC 5939) when configured with system.security.use_srtp = "force". (SEPSDK-2653)
