Genesys Softphone Release Notes
|Release Date||Release Type||Restrictions||AIX||Linux||Solaris||Windows|
This release contains the following new features and enhancements:
- For improved security, the local IP address is no longer included in the Call-ID header of SIP messages sent by Genesys Softphone.
- A new provisioning mechanism is introduced to simplify the enabling and the prioritization of the supported audio codecs both in standalone and HTTP connector modes. This is based on the new audio setting in the enabled section of the codecs domain. In Workspace Web Edition, this new option is named sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.audio.
- This new mechanism replaces the former configuration model, based on the Workspace Web Editon sipendpoint.codecs.<codec-name>.priority option, which was applicable to HTTP Connector mode only.
- You can now specify the value * for the headset_name option when the value of the use_headset option is set to 1 (indicating that Genesys Softphone selects the device specified as the default in the Windows Audio Settings). Previously, the value * was not supported as a valid value.
This release contains the following resolved issues:
Genesys Softphone no longer exits unexpectedly when it processes an incoming zero-length UDP packet. (SOFTPHONE-402)
Genesys Softphone running in HTTP Connector mode now correctly supports the setting of the value 1 to the ringing_enabled option, which specifies playing a ringtone only through the system default device. (SOFTPHONE-337)
Genesys Softphone no longer fails to initialize when the gui-tabs option is specified with a value other than status,calls,devices. (SOFTPHONE-309)
The log_filter option is now supported when Genesys Softphone is configured through HTTP Connector. (SOFTPHONE-279)
No special procedure is required to upgrade to release 8.5.401.03.
