What's New

This release contains the following new features and enhancements:

  • Universal Contact Server now uses the Microsoft JDBC driver for SQL Server version 12.6. This version of the Microsoft JDBC driver enables a secure connection by default; therefore, UCS requires either explicit configuration of the certificate truststore or explicit disabling of secure connection for the JDBC driver. Refer to the Upgrade notes below for further explanations. (ESR-16789, ESR-16789)
  • UCS now supports MS SQL Server 2022. (ESR-16822, ESR-16752)
  • UCS now supports OpenJDK 21. (ESR-16826)
  • UCS now supports TLS 1.3 for connections between Genesys components. (ESR-16824)
  • UCS third-party Spring library has been updated to version 6.2 (ESR-16821)
  • Third-party libraries have been updated with the latest versions in accordance with our security policies and best practices. (ESR-16836)

Resolved Issues

This release contains the following resolved issues:

Now, Context Service API correctly creates new extensions and identification keys when UCS is running with MS SQL Server. The previous version was incorrectly checking for the presence of a cview table. (ESR-16785)

Now, UCS correctly creates and updates the local index (for full-text search) for outbound chat interactions. Previously, it worked incorrectly. (ESR-16848, ESR-16854)

Upgrade Notes

If UCS is configured to use MS SQL Server, UCS DBAP (Database Access Point) must now be configured with the following in the section [settings]:

  • If no secure connection to MS SQL Server is required, configure:
    • encrypt=false
  • If secure connection to MS SQL Server is required, configure:
    • encrypt=true
    • trustStore=<Path to trust store>
    • trustStorePassword=<trust store password>

For a detailed description of all available MSSQL Server options, please see: Understanding encryption support - JDBC Driver for SQL Server.
