Supported Operating Systems
New in This Release
Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.

New in This Release

This release is under shipping control. The following new feature was introduced in this release of Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification.

To support Secure SIP and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP), the following configuration options have been added: sipendpoint.proxies.proxy0.media-encrypted, sipendpoint.proxies.proxy1.media-encrypted, and sipendpoint.transport-protocol (refer to ER# 305090962 for a description of this option). For more information about SRTP, refer to Genesys Security Deployment Guide 8.1 and SIP Server Deployment Guide Version 8.1.

The sipendpoint.transport-protocol option was introduced to enable configuration of the SIP Transport Protocol. Previously only UDP was available, but now you can use this option to specify UDP, TCP, or TLS protocols. For encrypted transport, set the value of this option to TLS.

If Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint must connect to an SBC or a SIP Proxy instead of an actual SIP Server, then you must configure the sipendpoint.sbc-register-port and sipendpoint.sbc-register-port.peer configuration options (for SIP Business Continuity) by specifying the UDP/TCP or TLS ports.

If Interaction Workspace is deployed in a SIP Business Continuity environment, use the sipendpoint.proxies.proxy0.media-encrypted and sipendpoint.proxies.proxy1.media-encrypted configuration options to encrypt the preferred and peer SIP connections.

Section: interaction-workspace
Option Name: sipendpoint.proxies.proxy0.media_encrypted
Default Value: false
Valid Values: true, false
Changes take effect: When the application is started or restarted.
Description: Specifies whether the media stream of the SIP conversation of the preferred line is encrypted.
Section: interaction-workspace
Option Name: sipendpoint.proxies.proxy1.media_encrypted
Default Value: false
Valid Values: true, false
Changes take effect: When the application is started or restarted.
Description: Specifies whether the media stream of the SIP conversation of the peer line is encrypted.

It is now possible to configure the SIP transport protocol between TCP, UDP, and TLS by using the new sipendpoint.transport-protocol option. (ER# 305090962)

Section: interaction-workspace
Option Name: sipendpoint.transport-protocol
Default Value: UDP
Valid Values: UDP, TCP, TLS
Changes take effect: When the application is started or restarted.
Description: Specifies whether UDP, TCP, or TLS is used for the SIP transport protocol.

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification:

In Business Continuity environments, the new instances of Interaction Workspace now reconnects to Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint, which was orphaned by a system interruption in the following scenario:

  1. An agent logs in to the Preferred site (Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint is started).
  2. An agent takes a call.
  3. During the active call, the preferred site fails and Interaction Workspace switches over to the Peer site (the call remains stacked in Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint).
  4. The Peer site fails and the Preferred site is restored.
  5. Interaction Workspace reconnects to the Preferred site and is ready to take calls.
  6. The agent logs out of Interaction Workspace (Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint does not exit because of the stacked call).
  7. The agent logs in again.

Previously in this scenario, Interaction Workspace failed ot reconnect to the orphaned Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint and was unable to accept new calls. (ER# 299946190)

Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint now correctly handles the sipendpoint.rtp.2833.payload_number option when the value of 100 is assigned. Previously, while using the G729 codec, setting this option to 100, instead of the default value of 101, resulted in a distorted RTP flow. (ER# 262648851)

Release Number 8.0.200.14 [05/31/11] – Hot Fix

Supported Operating Systems
New in This Release
Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint now enables you to use a regular expression to specify the name of a headset audio device in the sipendpoint.genesyslab.device.headset_name option.

Example: If you specify the name to be Jabra|Plantronics, then any device name that contains the characters Jabra or Plantronics will be found.

Previously, the sipendpoint.genesyslab.device.headset_name option supported only specific device names. However, the same device might be designated with a different name depending on what port or machine it was plugged in to. Because the name of the device was not consistent, it was not always possible for Interaction Workspace to select the device from the list of device names that was provided by the Windows Operating System.

Limitation: The device names that are read by Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint from the list that is provided by the Windows Operating System are truncated to 31-characters. Therefore, you must format the value of this option such that each individual name or partial name in the OR expression takes into account this 31-character limit.

Example: If the name of the device that is provided by the Windows Operating System is ".headset microphone (Jabra Link 220)", then the regular expression that is read by the Interaction Workspace SIP Endpoint is: ".headset microphone (Jabra Link". Therefore, you must ensure that the regular expression that you specify does not contain the truncated characters "200)".
