) to be different from the log
section (as
referenced in most other templates). When the Wizard came across the
Log
section, the option was not set, and the following error
message was displayed:
SCEE006 - A database error has occurred. Try the same action again.
If the problem persists, contact your network administrator.

You can now prevent the list of Logs from refreshing automatically in
the Centralized Log view of SCI when an alarm is activated or
cleared. To implement this, set the new option log_auto_refresh
to false
in the config
section in the Annex of
the SCI Application
object.
[config]
log_auto_refresh
Default Value: true
Valid Values: true
, false
Changes Take Effect: Immediately
Specifies if the list of log records displayed in SCI refreshes automatically.
This option must be set in the Annex of the SCI Application
object.
(ER# 296535801)
SCI now supports two new virtualization solutions. Refer to the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual for more information.
This release also contains the following corrections or modifications:
At initial startup, SCI no longer disconnects from Solution Control Server while it is loading configuration data from Configuration Server, which in turn progresses much more quickly. Previously, the disconnection of SCI from Solution Control Server caused the data loading to progress very slowly. (ER# 270386880)
When deleting records using the Log Database Maintenance Wizard, records
are now cleared from the G_LOG_ATTRS
table. Previously, records
were not cleared from this table. (ER# 234080661)
SCI now reconnects to the backup Configuration Server after a Configuration Server switchover. Previously, SCI did not reconnect to the backup Configuration Server when Configuration Server was assigned its backup Configuration Server while SCI was running, and a Configuration Server switchover occurred. (ER# 231719613)
A new Application is displayed correctly in the Tree view of SCI in the following scenario:
Application
object is created in Configuration Manager
without specifying a Host, Tenant, or port.Previously, the Application did not appear in the Tree view of SCI. The user had to restart SCI or specify the Host and port of the Application while creating the Application in Configuration Manager.
(ER# 231103542)
After it initializes, SCI now properly reconnects to Solution Control Server. Previously, SCI sometimes stopped responding and did not reconnect. (ER# 228436414)
In a single-tenant configuration, SCI now displays the Scripts
subfolder properly in both the Navigation panel and the list view.
(ER# 224220211)
When navigating between folders, SCI now displays the correct contents of the selected folder. Previously, the displayed contents were not the contents of the subfolder currently selected. (ER# 224108372)
When using the Sybase Database Management System (DBMS) for the Log Database, SCI no longer terminates while scrolling through the Centralized Log database. (ER# 187226822)
SCI no longer terminates unexpectedly when reconnecting to Configuration Server.(ER# 174139983)
In a redundant Message Server configuration, the real-time log is now available after a switchover of Message Servers. Previously, the real-time log did not start after the switchover. (ER# 166225741)
SCI no longer becomes unresponsive or terminates unexpectedly after it loses its connection to the network, or after a DB Server switchover. (ER# 149673478)

Corrections and Modifications
The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.0 release of Solution Control Interface.
Users can now perform a Graceful Stop of an application or solution. When stopping gracefully, an application or solution finishes processing all requests currently in its queue, but does not accept new requests. An application stops after it has finished processing all of its requests. A solution stops after all of its composite applications have stopped.
To support a Graceful Stop, applications now have
two new status levels—Suspending
and Suspended
.
A Suspending
application is processing requests currently in its
queue and not accepting new requests. When it has finished processing those
existing requests, its status changes to Suspended
and then
quickly to Stopped
.
Note: Only applications that support the new
status levels Suspending
and Suspended
can be
stopped gracefully. Likewise, only solutions made up of applications that
support the new status levels can be stopped gracefully. Applications that
do not support the new status levels, and solutions made up of those
applications, are shut down ungracefully.
The Graceful Stop functionality is accessible by additional buttons and
menu items co-located with the existing Stop
control. However,
when an application is in Suspending
or Suspended
status, only the Stop
control is available.
For more information about a Graceful Stop and the new status levels, refer to Framework 8.0 Solution Control Interface Help.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between release 7.6 or earlier releases and the initial 8.0 release:
Complete information about Active Alarms is displayed in the Details Pane of SCI. Previously, some information, such as the name of the application that generated the alarm and the text of the alarm, was not displayed. (ER# 182297746)
This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.
An attempt to open (by right-clicking or using the Details pane) any object in a separate window opens the window with an empty General tab intermittently. The content is shown only after the window is resized or tabs are switched. (MFWK-22985)

Configuring application logging and Alarm Condition, Detection, and Reaction objects are unavailable through SCI. This functionality, called Configuration Wizards, was implemented by a separate component, installed separately, and integrated in SCI interface. This component is unavailable on Windows 7 and later. The listed configuration tasks can be carried out regularly using Configuration Manager or Genesys Administrator. The built-in wizards, ML Troubleshooter, Log Db Maintenance, and Log Advanced Search, remain available in SCI. (MFWK-22962)

The Log Wizard in SCI correctly maintains those options in the
log
section for which it can be used (alarm
,
all
, debug
, expire
,
interaction
, segment
, standard
,
trace
, and verbose
). However, it removes all
other options in the log
section.
Workaround: If you use any log
options other than those
mentioned above, you can do one of two things to avoid this problem:
log
options on the Options
tab of Genesys Administrator or Configuration Manager, and do not use the
SCI Log Wizard.log

The Alarm Reaction Wizard in SCI does not support the configuration of an Alarm Reaction to switch over an application based on CPU or memory thresholds of a host.
Workaround: To configure an Alarm Reaction of this kind, manually add one of the following in the Annex of the Alarm Reaction Script:
[sml]
reaction-type=9
name=<name of application>
If you are using Solution Control Server 8.1.0 or earlier:
[sml]
reaction-type=9
dbid=<DBID of application>
Warning: Do not open an Alarm Reaction Script created this way (manually) using the Alarm Reaction Wizard. Doing so will result in the deletion of all manual settings from the script. Likewise, you must manually perform all editing of the script for a manually-created Alarm Reaction.
