When an EventPartyChanged message is received after the EventRinging or EventEstablished message on the IVR port DN and before a NewCall request is received, IVR Server now correctly completes the NewCall request. Previously in this scenario, IVR Server sometimes cleared TEvents required to complete a NewCall request, therefore failing to complete the NewCall request. This release corrects an incomplete fix of the same issue addressed in release 8.5.000.07. (IVR-2868)
During startup, when a connection attempt is made to Configuration Server, IVR Server no longer terminates unexpectedly when accessing an uninitialized variable. (IVR-2869)

IVR Server now supports a graceful manual switchover via Solution Control Interface while operating in warm standby mode. To enable it, configure the following configuration option in both IVR Server instances of the warm standby pair:
Section: gli
0 ms
(previous behavior)
Specifies the amount of time (in milliseconds) that the gli
listening port will temporarily ignore further SCS commands. Genesys recommends setting the option value long enough for the client IVR to connect to the other IVR Server. If using the IVR Library, its time_reconn_is
parameter defaults to 2000 ms
, so try setting this option to 5000 ms
.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
Under warm standby operation, you no longer must stop running the primary IVR Server to achieve a switchover test case. (IVR-2777)

The current version of the 8.5 IVR Server System Administrator's Guide incorrectly includes the call-cleanup section in Chapter 10: T-Server Common Configuration Options (page 200). IVR Server does not support the call-cleanup functionality. (IVR-2896)
The current version of the 8.5 IVR Server System Administrator's Guide contains incomplete information in the DN Availability for IVR-In-Front Mode section (page 22). This section must include the following:
For IVR-In-Front configurations that are operating in Warm Standby, Hot Standby, or stand-alone mode, you can configure IVR Server to report DN status events (EventDNOutOfService
and EventDNBackInService
).
This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.
Under warm standby operation, you must stop running the primary IVR Server to achieve a switchover test case. (IVR-2777)

When operating in Hot Standby In-Front
mode, the IVR Server's backup instance may have a memory leak. The leak is 0.07 bytes per call, with a call rate of 30 cps, over a 10-hour run duration. (ER# 223413295)

If an IVR port is configured as a trunk, the IVR Server generates a
TRelease
request. T-Server rejects this request and generates an
error message, which states that an unexpected request for trunks was made, and
sends the message to IVR Server. This behavior does not affect the client-side
call model. (ER# 87485)

XML is the messaging protocol used between IVR Server and client applications
that communicate with IVR Server (such as Genesys IVR Drivers, Genesys Voice
Platform, and driver applications created with the IVR XML SDK). Certain
character codes are not valid in an XML document. Characters with a value less
than hexadecimal number 0x20
are not valid, except the characters
0x09, 0x0A,
and 0x0D.
These exceptions correspond to
ASCII control characters TAB, LINE FEED, and CARRIAGE RETURN. No other ASCII
control characters are allowed. Therefore, the keys or values in application
user data must not contain any of these disallowed character codes. Any keys or user
data sent or received (including after the transcoding thereof) must be no more
than two bytes per character.
