Corrections and Modifications
This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
The Adapter now correctly handles events that contain large user data (approximately 100K and more).
Previously, handling such events resulted in an unexpected application termination.
For example, the Adapter would terminate unexpectedly when handling the OpenMediaWorkbinContent
event for workbins that contained many interactions with large user data. (GPSBL-5477)

Corrections and Modifications
This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
The Adapter now correctly loads all media plugins. Previously, the application sometimes terminated unexpectedly while media libraries loaded. Genesys recommends updating the Adapter to the current version together with the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Multimedia component. (GPSBL-5462)
The Adapter now correctly establishes connections between GenCommDrv
and GenCommServer
. Previously, the GenCommDrv
did not connect to the GenCommServer
during the 4 hours right before the current time representation in milliseconds resets to zero. It happens every 49.7 days according to the starting point. For UNIX, the count-down starting point depends on the system clock and is January 1, 1970. This issue affected only UNIX-type operating systems. (GPSBL-5461)

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
The Adapter now correctly handles User Data with empty values. Previously that User Data wasn't passed to T-Server, for example, in RequestInitiateTransfer.
(GPSBL-5303)
The Adapter no longer contains hard coded messages that appear on the Siebel User Interface. Previously, the Adapter included such messages, which meant that they were not translated when a Language Pack was used. (GPSBL-5302)
The Basic HTTP Authentication feature now works as expected in the Adapter.
Previously, if the GenCommDrv.pwd
file contained only one string and it did not include a carriage return at the end, the Basic HTTP Authentication feature didn't work. (GPSBL-5285)
The Adapter now correctly restores connections between GenCommDrv
and GenCommServer.
Previously, in very rare specific scenarios, like heavy network issues or the Adapter was heavily overloaded, some connections were not restored. (GPSBL-5269)
The Adapter now correctly handles outbound records that are automatically processed by Outbound Contact Server. For example, with this correction, when OCS automatically processes records after the ACW (After Call Work) time ends, the Adapter automatically processes them as well. Previously, the Adapter did not process those records correctly, which resulted in the Agent state remaining in the ACW mode when the agent was in the Ready state. (GPSBL-4876)

Corrections and Modifications
This is a hot fix for this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Gplus Communication Server for Siebel CRM.:
The Adapter now supports a feature for enabling and disabling CTI functionality at an agent's request. With this feature, an agent can turn CTI functionality on or off while remaining logged into Siebel CRM. When the agent turns CTI off, the Adapter session gets unlinked from the media servers (T-Server and Interaction Server). When the agent turns CTI on, the session gets linked to the media servers.
To enable the feature, a new Device Command with no parameters, called ToggleCTIOnOff
, was added to the Adapter.
To add the corresponding menu item (Toggle CTI On/Off) into Siebel CTI menu, add the following command into the agent's CTI configuration:
[Command:ToggleCTI]
Description = "Toggle CTI On/Off"
DeviceCommand = "ToggleCTIOnOff"
Hidden = "FALSE"
MenuPosition = "70"
Title = "Toggle CTI On/Off"
Profile = "<profile name>"
You must perform this operation manually because the CTI configuration sample (GenComm_universal.def
) is not a part of this component.
Note: The switching CTI On/Off command is disabled when one of the following conditions is true:
GenCommDrv
) to Gplus Communication Server (GenCommServer
).

This component is updated to support the extended SIP Business Continuity functionality on Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Voice. That functionality enables the Adapter to accept a phone (SIP Endpoint) registration factor for site switchover logic. For more information, see the 8.0.300.11 release in the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Voice 8.0 Release Note
(GPSBL-5159)
Note:This component works in conjunction with Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Voice and Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Multimedia. As a result, this release requires version 8.0.300.11 or later of those components.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
To support SIP BC functionality, the Adapter now switches to an alternate Disaster Recovery site when SIP Server on the Preferred site is unavailable. Previously, the Adapter remained on the Preferred site when SIP Server was unavailable and, as a result, would prevent agents from logging in. (GPSBL-5164)
On Unix systems, the Adapter now correctly reads driver-side .ini
files like GenCommBC.ini.
. Previously, on Unix systems, the Adapter only read driver-side files if they were prepended with lib
, like libGenCommBC.ini.

In the Adapter, if the connection between GenCommServer
and GenCommDriver
is broken and then restored, the agent now receives the same workitems as before the connection was broken. Previously in this scenario, the Adapter did not restore workitems for the agent. (ER# 235577211)
The transfer operation of a Push Preview workitem that is associated with a call that cannot be transferred (for example, the call is on hold) is enabled and now works incorrectly. The transfer operation must be disabled in this scenario. The workaround that was documented in Release 8.0.000.13 is no longer required. (ER# 264479361)
The media type for Push Preview interactions in the universal
configuration option section of the Communication Server Application
object is now configurable. For more information about how to configure the media type, see the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Deployment Guide. (ER# 260538824)

parameter is now handled correctly. Previously, Genesys Communication Server terminated unexpectedly when the Communication Sessions Manager.AcceptWorkItem
parameter was called from the EventHandler:OpenMediaInvitedMR
event handler. (ER# 227744933)
Genesys Communication Server was updated to correctly handle User Data. Previously, Genesys Communication Server terminated unexpectedly if the size of the User Data attached to the call was greater than or equal (>=
) to 10 kilobytes. (ER# 218783627)
Genesys Communication Server was updated to correctly handle backup Genesys Communication Server failover scenarios. Previously, after a failover, the backup Genesys Communication Server sent EventDialing
