Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesys.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 8.0 releases of Gplus UCS Gateway Server for Siebel CRM.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information on third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your Customer Care representative if you have any questions.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This release contains the following new features or functionality:

• Support for Siebel CRM IP2017 and Siebel CRM 2018. Use the content from the IP2014 folder for the deployment on Siebel CRM IP2017 or Siebel CRM 2018.
• Supports OpenJDK 8 and Oracle Java 8 Developer's Kit (JDK).
• Support for Windows Server 2016. See the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM page in the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide for more detailed information and a list of all supported operating systems.
• Support for UTF-8 encoding starting with this 8.0.310 release.

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

This release includes the following correction and modification:

If an email contains characters that are illegal to XML, the Adapter now removes them when the emails are passed to Siebel. Previously, the Adapter would not pass those emails to Siebel, due to presence of the illegal characters, which resulted in a 500 Internal Server Error. (GPSBL-5251)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter now correctly processes non-English interaction content, for example email body. Previously, non-English characters were replaced with a '?' (question mark) because an incorrect character set was applied during response preparation.(GPSBL-5145)

The Adapter now logs requests that it receives from Siebel and responses that it sends to Siebel. Previously, the logs did not include this information and were virtually empty. (GPSBL-5027)

• Support for Siebel versions 8.1.1.14/8.2.2.14 (IP2014) for both HI and Open UI modes.

• Support for Genesys Framework 8.5.

The Adapter no longer mixes the contents of different emails when it is under high load due to multiple simultaneous requests being received. Previously, the Adapter could return email content that was not from the email being requested. (GPSBL-4837)

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter no longer causes significant delays when transferring large emails to Siebel. Previously, the Adapter created excessive line breaks when converting large emails to Base64 format, which could cause delays. The Adapter no longer generates these excessive line breaks. (GPSBL-4670)

The Adapter no longer generates an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error message when processing requests to Knowledge Manager. Previously, this error was generated if a language object was added in Configuration Manager but did not have any categories configured in Knowledge Manager. (GPSBL-4673)

The Adapter now correctly performs a reconnect to UCS. Previously, there was an issue with the reconnection. (ER# 325100155, GPSBL-4440)

The Adapter now correctly returns the field names and values for several kinds of requests. Previously, the Adapter returned the incorrect field names and values for these requests—for example, there were empty ToAddresses and SentDate field values in responses for the outbound email content. (ER# 321417861, GPSBL-4276)

Internationalization

Information in this section is included for international customers.

For releases 8.0.100.15 and later, when an agent sends an e-mail to a customer using the Adapter in a non-English environment, the Adapter sometimes corrupts symbols in non-English e-mail content. (ER# 316577143)

Note: This issue was fixed for the 8.0.00x.xx releases of the Adapter in version 8.0.001.29.
