New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This release contains the following new features or functionality:

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter now correctly handles User Data with empty values. Previously that User Data wasn't passed to T-Server, for example, in RequestInitiateTransfer. (GPSBL-5303)

The Adapter no longer contains hard coded messages that appear on the Siebel User Interface. Previously, the Adapter included such messages, which meant that they were not translated when a Language Pack was used. (GPSBL-5302)

The Basic HTTP Authentication feature now works as expected in the Adapter. Previously, if the GenCommDrv.pwd file contained only one string and it did not include a carriage return at the end, the Basic HTTP Authentication feature didn't work. (GPSBL-5285)

The Adapter now correctly restores connections between GenCommDrv and GenCommServer. Previously, in very rare specific scenarios, like heavy network issues or the Adapter was heavily overloaded, some connections were not restored. (GPSBL-5269)

The Adapter now correctly handles outbound records that are automatically processed by Outbound Conact Server. For example, with this correction, when OCS automatically processes records after the ACW (After Call Work) time ends, the Adapter automatically processes them as well. Previously, the Adapter did not process those records correctly, which resulted in the Agent state remaining in the ACW mode when the agent was in the Ready state. (GPSBL-4876)

The Adapter no longer unexpectedly terminates when the last agent logs out of Genesys Communication Driver. Previously, on occasion, Genesys Communication Driver unexpectedly terminated in this scenario. When the SIP Business Continuity feature was used, the issue also occurred during normal agent work and with a higher frequency. If the SIP Business Continuity feature is used, Genesys highly recommends updating the Adapter to the current version. (GPSBL-5260)

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter now maintains network connections as expected. Previously, network connections unexpectedly broke down every 49.7 days according to the starting point. For Unix, the count-down starting point depends on the system clock and is January 1, 1970. For Windows, the count-down starting point is the application start time. (GPSBL-5187)

The Adapter now correctly handles network disconnects between Genesys Communication Driver and Genesys Communication Server. Previously upon a network disconnect between Genesys Communication Driver and Genesys Communication Server, Genesys Communication Server experienced an excessive load which caused an unnecessary performance degradation. (GPSBL-5249)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter now correctly recreates an agent session following a network connection disruption. Previously, when a disruption occurred (like a connection timeout), the Adapter recreated the session twice rather than once. In addition, the agent toolbar was still active even though the connection timeout occurred. (GPSBL-5221)

The Adapter now correctly recreates agent sessions after the connection between Genesys Communication Driver and Genesys Communication Server fails. Previously, Genesys Communication Driver did not always recreate the agent sessions. (GPSBL-5232)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

To support SIP BC functionality, the Adapter now switches to an alternate Disaster Recovery site when SIP Server on the Preferred site is unavailable. Previously, the Adapter remained on the Preferred site when SIP Server was unavailable and, as a result, would prevent agents from logging in. (GPSBL-5164)

On Unix systems, the Adapter now correctly reads driver-side .ini files like GenCommBC.ini.. Previously, on Unix systems, the Adapter only read driver-side files if they were prepended with lib, like libGenCommBC.ini. (GPSBL-5169)

Parameter Name: ServerReconnectDelay
Default Value: 10000
Valid Values: A positive integer, 1000 or greater.
Description: Defines the delay (in milliseconds) between attempts to reconnect to GenCommServer (this option replaces ConnectTimeout, which is now removed).
Parameter Name: ServerConnectTimeout
Default Value: 0 (indicates that the pre-defined operating system value will be used).
Valid Values: A positive integer, 0 or greater.
Description: Defines the timeout (in milliseconds) for establishing a connection.

Previously, the timeout value was pre-defined by the operating system and could not be changed. (GPSBL-4870)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Adapter no longer allows commands that are marked as disabled in Siebel to be executed in the Voice driver. Previously, when the Adapter allowed disabled commands to be executed, it sometimes caused unpredictable behavior. (ER# 269977965)

In the Adapter, if the connection between GenCommServer and GenCommDriver is broken and then restored, the agent now receives the same workitems as before the connection was broken. Previously in this scenario, the Adapter did not restore workitems for the agent. (ER# 235577211)

The transfer operation of a Push Preview workitem that is associated with a call that cannot be transferred (for example, the call is on hold) is enabled and now works incorrectly. The transfer operation must be disabled in this scenario. The workaround that was documented in Release 8.0.000.13 is no longer required. (ER# 264479361)

The media type for Push Preview interactions in the universal configuration option section of the Communication Server Application object is now configurable. For more information about how to configure the media type, see the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Deployment Guide. (ER#  260538824)

The Adapter correctly restores the state and workitems when failover of Media Servers (T-Server, Interaction Server) occurs. Previously, the Adapter did not correctly restore the previous state or workitems. (ER# 259924032)

The Adapter now updates the call result if the #of Attempts field is changed in Siebel. Previously in this scenario, the call result was not updated in the Outbound Contact Server (OCS) database if this field was changed. (ER# 263861527)

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.0 release of Gplus Communication Server for Siebel CRM.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 7.5 or earlier releases and the initial 8.0 release:

Genesys Communication Server (GenCommServ) was updated to correctly handle EventError events. Previously, Genesys Communication Server terminated unexpectedly if the EventError message was received while an agent was trying to logout. (ER# 243414586)

The Communication Sessions Manager.AcceptWorkItem parameter is now handled correctly. Previously, Genesys Communication Server terminated unexpectedly when the Communication Sessions Manager.AcceptWorkItem parameter was called from the EventHandler:OpenMediaInvitedMR event handler. (ER# 227744933)

Genesys Communication Server was updated to correctly handle User Data. Previously, Genesys Communication Server terminated unexpectedly if the size of the User Data attached to the call was greater than or equal (>=) to 10 kilobytes. (ER# 218783627)

Genesys Communication Server was updated to correctly handle backup Genesys Communication Server failover scenarios. Previously, after a failover, the backup Genesys Communication Server sent EventDialing and EventEstablished events for existing inbound call as a result of a RecreateService processing request from Genesys Communication Driver (GenCommDrv). (ER# 218589179)

This release of the Adapter corrects an issue related to Genesys Configuration Server shutting down and restarting. Previously, when the Genesys Configuration Server shut down and then restarted, the CPU usage was at 50%. (ER# 217650710)
