Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies only to the 8.1 releases of Genesys Training Manager that are specified in the Contents (above).

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Use of Third-Party Software

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information about third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your technical support representative if you have any questions.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Genesys Training Manager.

• Timezone support has now been added to Training Manager and Portal, including the ability to book training and meeting sessions over midnight.

• A new utilisation report has been added to the Portal in order to display how much trainers and rooms are used.

• Clash detection now presents more detailed and stuctured information.

• Genesys Training Manager now has support for suppressing Genesys WFM warning messages. This includes a report in SkillsPortal to allow administrators to review and unsuppress suppressed warnings.

• It is now possible to schedule training keeping WFM teams together within the training sessions.

• It is now possible to write exceptions into the Genesys WFM Calendar from within Training Manager.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 8.1 or earlier releases and the initial 8.1.1 release:

Agent Selection—fixed an issue whereby selecting agents by skill from WFM was not functioning.

Algorithm—fixed an issue in the meeting and one to one algorithms whereby a monthly recurring meeting could book two sessions in the same month.

Algorithm—fixed an issue in the meeting and one to one algorithms whereby long training exception codes are truncated by the algorithms.

Meetings—fixed an issue where a prompt was being shown too frequently when deleting meetings.

Schedule Events—interruptible activities can now be selected regardless of whether any users are selected within User Selection.

Trainer Setup—fixed an issue whereby the "egg timer" was displayed when hovering the mouse over the Thursday end time of the Trainer Working Days screen.

Training Requests—when a new request is created which falls outside the currently selected date range filter, the error message is now more descriptive.

Training Requests—fixed an issue whereby it was possible to bypass Training Request start tab validation.

Training Requests—fixed an issue which prevented the deletion of training events.

Training Sessions—when viewing training sessions on a list view of sessions, clicking to sort by date now works correctly.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. For availability of this release, contact your Genesys representative. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Genesys Training Manager.

• Training Manager has an updated �Look and Feel�.

• The main menu structure has been changed slightly with the �Selection & Exclusion� option, now situated under �Configuration.�

• Hints are provided as standard in the Sub Menu.

• There is the option to update and exclude Dates and Users as part of the training request process.

• The Training Scheduler structure has changed with a separate tab now for �Interruptible Activities� and clearer defined tab names.

• There is the option to configure performance constraints, for training requests or meeting requests using percentages (%). There is also the additional option of being able to use the �Required� figure or the �Calculated� figure against the Site or Activity coverage tolerance.

• Scheduling training and /meetings now has the option to be scheduled at either Activity or Site level.

• Training can be scheduled �Over Midnight�.

• There is the ability to View any created Training Sessions whilst Training Manager is still �Searching�.

• Multiday training sessions are displayed in the training portal together with which day of the training it covers.

• Booking Categories can be configured to identify if they are �working time�.

• Trainers can be configured to identify what day of the week they start work on.

• The process to associate Managers to their Teams has changed and this is now done by location.

• An activity report is available to view Team Meetings and 1-2-1�s that have been scheduled.

• Team Meetings and 1-2-1�s are now configured around the team manager rather than the team.

• There is a manual option available for scheduling team meetings & 1-2-1�s.

• Granting Training Manager Portal access has been updated.

• The option to grant user�s access to the Webportal has changed.

• Skillsassess mapping has been changed.

• Genesys exceptions are selected and mapped via a drop down box.

• There is the option to view trainers by their �Home Location� as a submenu option.

• There is the option when viewing activity scheduled in the �Planner View�, to have the information presented in a separate window.

• The multiple trainers report view in Training Portal has changed.

• There is the ability to block book new events in the Training Portal rather than using �recurrence'.

• There is a quicker calendar search option.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 8.0 or earlier releases and the initial 8.1 release:

Issue resolved where meetings could "change" team if the user selection screen was loaded for a previous meeting.

Issue resolved where algorithm would book over the top of recurring calendar items.

Issue resolved in the Web Portal where trainer managers could not view their own calendars.

Issue resolved in Training Portal whereby previous Z-Order fix prevented from using Telerik TreeView on a PostBack.
