This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following correction or modification:
SNMP Master Agent now correctly handles the delivery of SNMP traps to the
trap targets when the trap_target

multiple SNMP trap targets that use different community strings. Previously
with this configuration, SNMP Master Agent sent duplicate SNMP traps to the
same destination. (MFWK-15325)

Corrections and Modifications
The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of SNMP Master Agent.
SNMP Master Agent now supports interactions with other components working in UTF-8 mode, and can be installed in and started from a UTF-8 directory. The only limitation is that SNMP scalar data and traps cannot contain a UTF-8 string.
By default, SNMP Master Agent now enables automatic authentication of
the server's security certificate by the Windows TLS client socket. However,
this might cause the failure of existing TLS connections that do not have
server certificates. To prevent authentication errors on those existing TLS
connections, make sure that server certificates are used. Alternatively, you
can use the new option client-auth
to disable the default
behavior and restore pre-8.1.3 behavior.
SNMP Master Agent supports new versions of operating systems and a new virtualization platform. Refer to the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Guide for more information.

This release also contains the following correction or modification:
SNMP Master Agent log files are now of a more manageable size. The SNMP
Master Agent template been updated with new default values for two options,
both in the log
section, as follows:
segment=20000
expire=10
Previously, the template used the system-wide default values for these
options, with both set to false
. This led to the creation of
very large log files over time. (ER# 309722130)

SNMP Master Agent now supports new operating systems. Refer to the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual for more information.
SNMP passwords can now be masked in Configuration Manager and can be
encrypted in the Configuration Database, thereby eliminating a security
vulnerability. To implement this, replace the SNMP configuration options
v3auth_password
and v3priv_password
with the
following new options in the new sections:
[snmp-v3-auth] New section
password Replaces v3auth_password
[snmp-v3-priv] New section
password Replaces v3priv_password
Attributes of each new option are the same as those of the option it replaces. Refer to the Framework 8.1 Configuration Options Reference Manual for detailed information about these options.
(ER# 101597)
This release also contains the following correction or modification:
SNMP Master Agent no longer opens the "public" community for SNMPv1 clients by default. It will now open the "public" community only if the following conditions are true:
The options trap_target
and read_community
or write_community
are configured in the SNMP MA configuration
object.
The user has not configured a trap community for each host specified
in the trap_target
option.

Automatic switchover of SNMP Master Agents is not supported. Genesys strongly recommends that you do not configure SNMP Master Agent in an HA pair.

select Auto-restart
in the Server Info
section of
its Configuration
tab.

If you use a tool other than Windows certificate services to generate the
TLS security certificate and then import the certificate to Windows manually,
the CERT_TRUST_REVOCATION_STATUS_UNKNOWN
validation error will
occur and the TLS connection to the Genesys server will fail.
Workaround: Set the client-option
option to 0
(zero) to disable server authentication in the SNMP Master Agent TLS socket.
Refer to the Framework Configuration Options Reference Manual for
a full description of this option and how to use it.
