Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 8.1 releases of SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Use of Third-Party Software

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information about third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your technical support representative if you have any questions.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release contains no new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now plays a beep tone in the following scenario:

• auto_answer is set to auto_answer=1
• An inbound call is made using third-party call control
• The call is not on hold
• The third-party call control message RequestPrivateService=3003 is issued
• SIP Server issues a NOTIFY message with Event: beep
• SIP Endpoint SDK should play a beep tone

Previously, SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET would not play a beep tone under these circumstances. (ER# 312236757)

This is a hot fix for this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET.

• SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now supports the collection of RTP audio and video statistics, giving users real-time access to these statistics during a call. These capabilities are documented at http://docs.genesyslab.com/wiki/index.php?title=SIP_Endpoint_SDK_Call_Statistics.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET.

• In addition to the existing support for the G.729 voice codec with a setting of annexb=yes, SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now supports the G.729 voice codec with an option of annexb=no.

  To configure this setting in the SipEndpoint.config file, add the vad_enabled setting to the g729 section with a value of either 1 (annexb=yes) or 0 (annexb=no), as shown below:

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET.

• Video Support—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now supports video, allowing agents and customers to see each other.
• Improved Security—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now offers additional secure signaling and media encryption using TLS (Transport Layer Security) and SRTP (Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol).
• Default No Access Support—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now supports RFC2617-style digest authentication, which is currently used by SIP Server.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.1 release of SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET.

• SIP Server HA/Resilience—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET supports HA/resilience/disaster recovery with SIP Server in situations that impact the desktop.
• SIP Server 7.6 Compatibility—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET is officially compatible to run on the latest available SIP Server 7.6.
• Improved Platform Support—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now offers support for the following operating systems:
  • Windows XP 64-bit
  • Windows Vista 64-bit
• Support for Multi-SIP Endpoints—SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET now provides support for multi-SIP Endpoints, allowing one instance of the SIP Endpoint SDK to register and work with multiple SIP Servers.

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

Limitation: SIP Endpoint SDK does not support Mean Opinion Score (MOS) statistics. (ER# 310766681)

Limitation: On Windows Vista, the operating system API called by the CounterPath SDK 2.5 returns truncated values of in and out audio device names.

Limitation: Although SIP Server SDK 8.1 is compatible with the latest release of SIP Server 7.6.x, please note that any features introduced in SIP Server 8.x or later are not available in that scenario. This includes the following features:

• Sending DTMF
• Beep Tones Control
• SIP Server HA/Resilience

Additionally, while 1PCC control works correctly for all SIP Servers, some versions of SIP Server 7.6.x are not fully compatible with 3PCC control.

Limitation: The following list of codecs are supported by SIP Server in 1pcc mode, but not in 3pcc mode:

• G722_2
• G723
• G726
• BroadVoice32
• BroadVoice32 FEC
• DVI4
• DVI4 Wideband
• iLBC
• L16 PCM Wideband
• Speex
• Speex FEC
• Speex Wideband
• Speex Wideband FEC

The SIP Endpoint SDK for .NET can experience a problem establishing an audio path during internal (consultation) call in the following scenario:

1. An inbound call arrives at a routing point with a loaded routing strategy.
2. The call is routed to an Agent A using Interaction Workspace, and SIP Endpoint accepts the call.
3. The inbound call is put on hold. The customer listens to configured music while on hold.
4. Agent A makes and internal/consultation call to Agent B, located on a remote SIP Server.
5. Agent A does not hear ringing, even though it is provided by Stream Manager.
6. Once the call is established there is no audio path established; both agents only hear silence.

To prevent this issue, Genesys recommends that you use SIP Endpoint in dual-dialog mode in this scenario, by changing the dual-dialog-enabled parameter to true.
