Corrections and Modifications
The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following correction or modification:
DNS Reverse Lookups are now disabled for a client that connects to Solution
Control Server (SCS). Previously, SCS performed a DNS Reverse Lookup when a
client connected to SCS, and if the DNS server was unavailable or unable to
respond, it would cause the Automatic Disconnect Detection Protocol (ADDP)
timeout to expire. As a result of the timeout expiration, the managed
applications were reported as Unavailable
. (ER# 304076384)

Corrections and Modifications
The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications:
In a Distributed Solution Control Server configuration, Solution Control
Servers now report the correct status of objects controlled by other
Solution Control Servers, even if there are a large number of hosts and
applications controlled by each Solution Control Server. Previously in
this scenario, controlling Solution Control Servers sometimes failed to
communicate the status of their controlled objects to other Solution
Control Servers after restart or switchover. As a result, the reported
status of some objects were sometimes contradictory or Unknown
.
(ER# 279169371)
Solution Control Server now properly sends portions of e-mail notifications
when executing Alarm Reactions of type Send e-mail
. Previously,
Solution Control Server sometimes started to process the next e-mail
notification before the previous SMTP request had been completed. Now,
Solution Control Server does not try to send a new e-mail if the previous
one has not been sent completely. (ER# 273186096)
The memory leak in Solution Control Server that occurred on AIX starting in release 8.0.300.03 has been fixed. (ER# 271544715)
Solution Control Server now sends its current status and the mode in which it is running to Local Control Agent (LCA) when its status or run mode changes, and when it reconnects to LCA. Previously, it did not send changes in its status or run mode to LCA after reconnecting; as a result, both Solution Control Servers in a high-availability (HA) pair sometimes ran in the same mode. The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
This is a hot fix for this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Solution Control Server.
Solution Control Server can now try to start an application of type
Third Party Server
with a state UNKNOWN
,
including when executing a Start a specified application
Alarm Reaction. Default behavior in this case is to not try to start the
application, but a user can change this by using the following new
configuration option in the general
section of the
Third Party Server
-type Application
object:
false
true
, false
Specifies if Solution Control Server is to try to start an
application of type Third Party Server
with a state of
UNKNOWN
. When set to false
(the default),
Solution Control Server will not try to start the application. When set
to true
, Solution Control Server will try to start the
application, even if the state of the application is UNKNOWN
.

Corrections and Modifications
The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.
This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following correction and modification:
Solution Control Servers in distributed mode now report synchronized statuses of controlled objects. Previously, different statuses of controlled objects were sometimes reported by the Solution Control Servers in distributed mode. To fix the problem, you had to restart the Solution Control Server running on the host for which the different statuses were reported.
To prevent this from occurring, use the following new configuration option
in the general
section of each Solution Control Server:
0
0
or any positive integerSpecifies a time interval, in seconds, after which a distributed Solution
Control Server sends to other Solution Control Servers a request for the
status of objects controlled by them, while also sending the statuses of
objects that it controls. This enables all Solution Control Servers in the
configuration to synchronize object statuses and report them accordingly.
If this option is set to zero (0
, the default) or is not
defined, synchronization attempts are not sent in a timely manner.
Notes:

reduce network traffic.(ER# 271091731)

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Solution Control Server.
Solution Control Server can now detect an application that has stopped responding, and generates a log event (00-05160) on behalf of that application. If the application starts responding again without being restarted, Solution Control Server generates another new log event (00-05161) on behalf of that application.
Solution Control Server now supports TLS authentication, and therefore can interact with the Microsoft ESMTP mail service. Refer to the latest version of the Genesys Security Deployment Guide for more information.
When it is being stopped by Solution Control Interface, the primary Solution Control Server now notifies the backup Solution Control Server of its impending stop so that the backup does not interpret the stoppage as a loss of connection and generate an alarm.
This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:
You can now deploy Solution Control Server on a host running Windows Server 2008 using the Deployment Wizard in Genesys Administrator.
The primary Solution Control Server now accurately reports the status of
the backup Solution Control Server. Previously, the primary Solution Control
Server sometimes incorrectly reported the status of the backup Solution
Control server as Running
, when in fact the host on which the
backup Solution Control Server is installed is down. In this case, the
status of the backup Solution Control Server should have been reported as
Unknown
. This situation could have occurred if the primary
Solution Control Server first lost connection with the LCA on the host on
which the backup Solution Control Server was installed, then lost the
connection with the backup Solution Control Server on that host.
(ER# 143466960)
The error message Applications terminated due to internal
conditions
is no longer displayed when stopping the primary Solution
Control Server through Solution Control Interface. (ER# 164915713)
Solution Control Server now continues trying to reconnect to the active Configuration Server in a Configuration Server high availability (HA) pair. Previously, Solution Control Server sometimes stopped trying to reconnect if the previous attempt failed. (ER# 235719610)

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Solution Control Server.
In a Distributed Solution Control Server environment, any Solution Control Server can detect the failure of a remote site controlled by another Solution Control Server. New log events are generated to indicate when a failure of a remote site is detected (43-20600), and when a remote site comes back into service (43-20601).
You can now configure log output to show only part of the value of some data fields. This is an extension of functionality introduced in release 7.6, enabling you to configure the log output to hide, or mask, the value of some data fields.
The SNMP MIB file now has been enhanced with a new table to provide current statistics about the T-Server Link.
Solution Control Server now requires 8.0 versions of the technical licenses.
This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:
Metadata for Solution Control Server now includes all options supported by Solution Control Server. (ER# 193145473)

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.0 release of Solution Control Server.
Solution Control Server can now perform a Graceful Stop of an application or solution. When stopping gracefully, an application or solution finishes processing all requests currently in its queue, but does not accept new requests. An application stops after it has finished processing all of its requests. A solution stops after all of its composite applications have stopped.
To support a Graceful Stop, applications now have two new status
levels—Suspending
and Suspended
. A
Suspending
application is processing requests currently in its
queue and not accepting new requests. When it has finished processing those
existing requests, the status of the application changes to
Suspended
and then quickly to Stopped
.
Note: Only applications that support the new
status levels Suspending
and Suspended
can be
stopped gracefully. Likewise, only solutions made up of applications that
support the new status levels can be stopped gracefully. Applications that
do not support the new status levels, and solutions made up of those
applications, are shut down ungracefully.
For more information about a Graceful Stop and the new status levels, refer to Framework 8.0 Genesys Administrator Help or Framework 8.0 Solution Control Interface Help.
