Corrections and Modifications
This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of the Recording Crypto Server.
This release includes the following correction and modification.
In premise deployments, Genesys Web Services (GWS) might be deployed using a blank domain name. RCS now supports a blank value for its domain name option. The correct configuration of this option is needed for archiving of call recording records. (GIR-422)
During archiving, metadata is correctly deleted according to the configured retention time in RCS. Previously, a day's worth of data might have been deleted from the SpeechMiner database and the deletion from the Genesys Web Services (GWS) database might be interrupted. (GIR-411)
RCS now supports reading the recording root CA certificate from a certificate file. In addition to the existing options, the rcs.properties cacertstorepath
parameter can be set to the path of the CA certificate file. The file must contain an X509 certificate in PEM format. (GIR-403)
Java no longer treats the Windows "\
" path character as a special character when processing the rcs.properties
Recoding Crypto Server local configuration file. (GIR-395)

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.
When Recording Crypto Server (RCS) is started for the first time, and then terminated (either by using the Solution Control Interface or by killing the process) soon after, the RCS directory structure might be left in a partially initialized state. This can cause RCS to fail on subsequent attempts to start.
To work around this, do not terminate RCS for at least 60 seconds starting it for the first time. If the directory structure is still invalid, delete all sub-directories
in the RCS root directory, except for the conf
and legal
directories. When RCS is re-started, the required directories are created. (GIR-427).

If a newly installed RCS fails to startup due to configuration problems, it might partially initialize the keystore file, such that it remains in an invalid state. Subsequent starts of RCS fail because the keystore file is invalid.
To workaround this, delete the keystore.bin
file from the <RCS Installation Directory>
.

When Java processes the rcs.properties
Recoding Crypto Server local configuration file, the Windows "\
" path character is treated as a special character. To workaround this, the Windows "\
" path characters in the rcs.properties
configuration file must be escaped. For example, for a desired value of\\host\share\filename
, the parameter value must be set to \\\\host\\share\\filename
. (GIR-395)
