Deployment Procedure
Additional Information

Introduction

This deployment procedure applies for all 8.1.x releases of Reporting and Analytics Aggregates (RAA) that are listed in the release table above. If you are a GI2 user, refer also to the Genesys Interactive Insights 8.1.x Deployment Procedure.

Deployment Procedure

To deploy this installation package within a new environment, follow the instructions provided in either:

To deploy the package within your existing 8.1.x RAA environment, perform the following steps:

  1. On Microsoft Windows platforms, uninstall the prior RAA release. (You do not need to delete any RAA objects.)

  2. Following the instructions in the Genesys Info Mart 8.1.x Deployment Procedure, migrate your Info Mart database schema to the version that is associated with the appropriate Genesys Info Mart release. For each RAA 8.1.x release, the Reporting and Analytics Aggregates 8.1 Release Advisory lists the supported Genesys Info Mart releases that interoperate with RAA.

Warning! Before you begin the migration (to 8.1.100.xx releases only), refer to known issue ER 311243728 in the Reporting and Analytics Aggregates 8.1.x Release Notes for important information on how to minimize the loss of aggregated data following the migration.

  3. Reinstall RAA from its installation package following the instructions in the Reporting and Analytics Aggregates 8.1 Deployment Guide.

  4. If you intend to deploy GI2 and run userdata reports without customization, run the make_gim_UDE_template_<dbms>.sql script, if it has not already been run.

  5. To determine if you must recreate tenant read-only views, see "Updating Tenant Aliases in Multi-Tenant Environments" in the Reporting and Analytics Aggregates 8.1 User’s Guide.

  6. If your environment uses a time zone other than the GMT time zone, check to see whether time zone objects are still valid and that your reports yield data in the desired time zone. If either yields unexpected results, recreate time zone objects following the instructions provided in "Reporting Outside the GMT Time Zone" in the Genesys Interactive Insights 8.1 User’s Guide.

  7. When deploying RAA in an environment with a partitioned Info Mart database (that is, partition-kit.ss exists in the Genesys Info Mart root folder) or where you have customized aggregation (patch-agg-subhour.ss exists in the Genesys Info Mart root folder), you must use the set of files from the installation package (IP) to which you are upgrading.

    1. Back up the following files:

      • partition-kit.ss
      • patch-agg-subhour.ss

    2. Copy patch-agg-subhour.ss from the IP to the Genesys Info Mart root folder, and re-implement any customizations (referring to the previously-deployed patch-agg-subhour.ss file).
    3. Re-deploy the RAA partition kit as follows:
      1. Depending on the release you are deploying, choose one of the following options:
        • RAA release 8.1.405.12 and later— from the Agg > scripts folder, copy the partition-kit-<***>.ss that is appropriate for your RDBMS (partition-kit-ORACLE.ss, partition-kit-MSSQL.ss, or partition-kit-POSTGRES.ss) into the Genesys Info Mart root directory.
        • RAA release 8.1.405.11 and earlier— from the Agg > scripts folder, copy the partition-kit-<***>.ss that is appropriate for your deployment (partition-kit.ss, partition-kit-GIM811.ss, or partition-kit-GIM811-MSSQL.ss) into the Genesys Info Mart root directory.
      2. Rename the new file as partition-kit.ss
      3. Re-implement any customizations (referring to the previously-deployed partition-kit.ss file).
      4. Note: to use out-of-box definitions,
        • if your deployment includes queue-user-data customization for queue hierarchies (H_QUEUE, H_QUEUE_ABN, H_QUEUE_ACC_AGENT) with USER_DATA_KEY1, USER_DATA_KEY2 and INTERACTION_DESCRIPTOR_KEY columns, then you must execute java -jar GIMAgg.jar -setFeature no-queue-user-data -value WORKBIN_KEY
        • if your deployment includes queue-user-data customization for queue hierarchies (H_QUEUE, H_QUEUE_ABN, H_QUEUE_ACC_AGENT) with USER_DATA_KEY1, USER_DATA_KEY2 columns, then you must execute java -jar GIMAgg.jar -setFeature no-queue-user-data -value INTERACTION_DESCRIPTOR_KEY
    4. Restart Genesys Info Mart.
  8. When deploying RAA release 8.1.405.02 or earlier in a Genesys Info Mart 8.5 environment, if you will configure Social Media attached data, then you must first execute one of the following scripts:

  9. If you are deploying RAA release 8.1.405.07 with MS SQL Server Standard Edition, then you must set the option ms-sql-std-edition in the [agg-feature] section of the Genesys Info Mart application.
