This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:
The AddpInterceptor.sendPacket()
method now creates a new copy
of the ADDP message byte array to send, which eliminates dual pinging. Also,
DisconnectAction
is not scheduled if the ADDP timeout was changed
to zero at the same moment when PollAction
was started. Previously,
unexpected connection loss could occur between the PSDK client and SIP Server.

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of the Platform SDK & Application Blocks for Java.
This release includes support for Microsoft Windows Vista.
The Platform SDK for Java version 7.6.201 can now be installed on a computer on which an earlier version of the Platform SDK has been installed. For example, you can install version 7.6.201.03 on a computer that already has version 7.6 or 7.6.200 installed.
This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:
The Commons.Connection
class now allows internal static threads to be recreated. Previously, applets developed using the Platform SDK could become unresponsive if they were closed unexpectedly and then reloaded. (ER# 214160077)
The Commons.KVLists
class now allows the toString()
method to be called concurrently. Previously, this caused an exception to occur. (ER# 213811820)

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 7.6 release of the Platform SDK & Application Blocks for Java.
The Configuration Object Model Application Block is now available for Java. To obtain this application block, download it from the DevZone. (ER# 146682216)
The Management Platform SDK now includes the following two new requests, that allow custom applications to request specific information from Solution Control Server:
RequestGetHostInfo
enables applications to request host information.RequestGetSolutionInfo
enables applications to request solution information.The Platform SDK now includes several Java code examples. These examples use the Protocol Manager Application Block and the Message Broker Application Block, which both employ industry best practices to facilitate server connections and event handling. See the Platform SDK Developer's Guide for more information.
Configuration Server no longer assigns new users to any Access Groups. Each new user:
Each new user must be added to an Access Group by an Administrator or a user with permissions to update user accounts. For details, see the Genesys 7.6 Security Deployment Guide.
The documentation for all API References, Application Blocks, and samples has been enhanced. See Genesys Online Documentation for a complete listing.
This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 7.5 or earlier releases and the initial 7.6 release:

directory prevented this. (ER# 122839377)
It is now possible to build the Configuration Context Application Block under AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, and Tru64 UNIX. Previously, the absence of a src
directory prevented this. (ER# 122839375)
The manifest files in commons.jar
and system.jar
now contain correct version numbers. (ER# 161028711)
This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.
When two versions of the Platform SDK for Java version 7.6.201.xx have been installed on the same computer, the Start menu shortcuts for the Application Blocks of the second version are placed with the Start menu shortcuts of the first version.
For example, if the Platform SDK for Java version 7.6.200.10 has been installed on a computer and version 7.6.201.03 is subsequently installed on the same computer, the shortcuts for the Application Blocks of version 7.6.201.03 will be grouped with the shortcuts for version 7.6.200.10, instead of appearing with the shortcuts for version 7.6.201.03.

If you specify an IPv6 host in an Endpoint
, an exception will
occur. This is because, first of all, the Platform SDK for Java is based on NIO,
and secondly, NIO does not support IPv6 in Java 1.4 through 1.6. Until Java
adds support for IPv6, single stack servers will not be able to use IPv6. For
dual stack machines it is possible to "prefer" IPv4 using a system property of
java.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
. For more information, see
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/net/ipv6_guide/.

Some documentation provided with the Platform SDKs is still being developed. The most recent SDK documentation is available at the Genesys Developer Zone. You can reach Genesys Online Documentation at http://docs.genesys.com.
This release is not binary compatible with previous releases. If you plan to use applications built with previous releases in the Platform SDK 7.6 environment, then you must recompile those applications. You may also need to make minor changes to the source code.
On the Solaris 10 platform, the Platform SDKs cannot open a connection due to an I/O failure in the selector loop in the connect()
method. This is a problem with the Solaris 10 JDK. For a workaround, see http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6322825. (ER# 87809431)
The Platform SDK for Java incorrectly deserializes message attributes of type long
. (ER# 111058706)
