Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 7.6 releases of Network T-Server for GenSpec.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.
• You can find information about changes and corrections to functionality common to all Network T-Servers that utilize Programmable Gateway Framework (PGF) in the release note for Programmable Gateway Framework release 7.6.x
• The T-Server Common Part is common code used by all T-Servers, Network T-Servers, and the IVR Server's TServer_IVR and TServer_IVR_Network applications. You can find information about changes and corrections to functionality common to all T-Servers in the release note for T-Server Common Part release 7.6.x.

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize functionality of commercial or non-commercial third parties. For specific information on any third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

This release of Network T-Server is built with Programmable Gateway Framework (PGF) release number 7.6.000.16. Consult the PGF release note for information on changes that may affect the functionality of your particular type of Network T-Server.

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain any new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following correction and modification:

Network T-Server now correctly reconnects to Configuration Server or Configuration Proxy and receives updates of configuration data. Previously, in some scenarios, Network T-Server failed to reconnect to Configuration Layer components, which resulted in a loss of configuration data updates. (ER# 265594641)

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Network T-Server for GenSpec now allows client registration on any DN type if ControlMode is set to RegisterLocal. Previously, only DN's of type RoutingPoint or ServiceNumber could be registered by Network T-Server; registration requests for all other DN types were rejected with error events in response. (ER# 218396661)

The Network T-Server for GenSpec now sends a Reconnect message to the SCP when an agent initiates a NetworkConsult to a Routing Point, and the call is routed to the the selected destination, but not answered. Previously in this scenario, the Reconnect message was not sent to the SCP. (ER# 218534344)

When operating in a multi-site environment, Network T-Servers now correctly reconnect with each other. Previously in some scenarios, Network T-Server would not always reestablish the lost connection. (ER# 217639290)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

The list of configuration options in the log file for Network T-Servers that utilize Programmable Gateway Framework appears twice. The first list is incomplete and may contain the wrong default values for some options. A complete list of options and default values appears in the second list.

In release 7.6, the Commonlib option common\rebind-delay affects the operation of Network T-Servers that use the gli-reconnect-delay option to control server socket. The common\rebind-delay option overrides the gli-reconnect-delay option and ignores settings for this option.

Genesys recommends the following:

• For error visibility, use extended logging, and set the value for log\x-conn-debug-open to 1.
• To disable this option, set the value of common\rebind-delay to 0 (zero).

Note: Disabling this option may cause problems in cases of multiport usage. Network T-Server will exit if at least one port has not been opened (due to misconfiguration, or a quick restart).

The Network Attended Transfer and Conference (NAT/C) feature supports a maximum of three parties on a call. After an initial TNetworkConsult request has been made and a third call participant is present, subsequent TNetworkConsult requests will result in EventError messages. After the number of call participants drops back to two parties (due to transfer or disconnection of one party from the conference), subsequent TNetworkConsult requests are again valid. (ER# 77020182)

Network T-Servers do not support warm or hot standby.  Instead, they use a load sharing redundancy schema.  See the Framework 7.6 Network T-Server Deployment Guide for your T-Server for more information.

Running the Network T-Server for GenSpec on the Tru64 UNIX operating system requires the installation C++ runtime library version 6.3 or higher. Instructions for obtaining and installing the runtime libraries can be found on the web at ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/C-CXX/Tru64/cxx/cxxredist.htm.

Running the Network T-Server for GenSpec on the Solaris operating system requires the installation of certain patches to the C++ runtime libraries.  The required patches can be obtained in one of two ways:

1. Install the latest "Recommended and Security Patches" from Sun Microsystems located on the SunSolve web site at http://sunsolve.sun.com/show.do?target=patchpage.

OR

2. Install the specific patches for the C++ runtime as shown below:

• Solaris 2.8: 108434-06 or later and 108435-06 or later.

Due to a limitation with the FLEXlm� license manager, the number of licensed DNs that T-Server can control is limited to 9999.
