This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release includes the following correction or modification:
Message Server no longer stops processing new messages if the current message contains more than 10,000 characters. It now discards the current message and proceeds to the next. Previously, Message Server would repeatedly try to process the long message and not proceed to subsequent messages. (ER# 270533999)

mode has been improved. Message
Server now sends DB Server the correct request to store a log message in the
Log Database if the text in the message consists of more than 255 symbols
and contains inverted commas. Previously in this case, Message Server
stopped writing messages to the Log Database because of an error generated

There are no restrictions for this release. This release does not contain new features or functionality.
This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:
You can now deploy Message Server on a host running Windows Server 2008 using the Deployment Wizard in Genesys Administrator.
The Log Database has been upgraded to provide the following benefits:
Message Server now generates correct message IDs. Previously, in
very rare cases, Message Server sometimes generated incorrect identifiers,
each either too long or a duplicate. In these cases, an error message
such as The current value larger than specified precision allows
for this column
or Cannot insert duplicate key in table
appeared and the error logged by DB Server. (ER# 174782596)
SCI initially displays log messages in descending order of generation. This no longer has a negative impact on performance for large log databases. (ER# 142517628)
Warning: Upgrading a large Log Database with a large number of records can take a significant amount of time.
Note: Upgrading the Log Database is optional, and required only if you want to obtain the benefits listed above. Message Server will work with the Log Database whether it is upgraded or not.
To upgrade your log database to 8.0, do the following:
If you are upgrading from version 6.x, use the instructions in the Genesys Migration Guide to upgrade your Log Database from 6.x to 7.x.
Upgrade all Message Servers to 8.0, using the instructions in the Genesys Migration Guide.
For each Message Server configured on the log database to be updated,
set the configuration option db_storage
to false
.
If you are using the Sybase DBMS, switch on the Select
into/bulkcopy/pllsort
option.
Execute the script upgrade_7Xto80_<DBMS type>.sql
for the type of DBMS that you are using.
After the upgrade script has completed running, set the configuration
option db_storage
to true
for those Message Servers
configured on the updated database, as necessary.
In the following scenario, Message Server now tries to reconnect to Log DB Server until the connection is established.
Previously, Message Server would stop trying to connect at this point.
(ER# 205905469)
The text of log events 00-04503 and 00-04504 now include the attribute
[server name]
as specified in Framework Combined Log Events
