This release note applies to all 8.1 releases of Universal Contact Server Manager.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications.


UCS Manager now operates with Java 7. Previously, UCS Manager had to be installed without binding to Java. (ESR-7244)


UCS Manager is now able to generate database statistics when the sum of all attachments exceeds 2,147,483,647 bytes. (ESR-7223)


UCS Manager no longer displays fixing BadContactAttributes instead of fixing DuplicateContacts. (ESR-7216, ESR-7211)

This release includes the following correction and modification.


When you are using the Correction Tool, the diagnosis and fix of the BadContactAttributes issue comes before the GhostContacts in the list of issues. This new order is more appropriate because fixing BadContactAttributes could remove all ContactAttributes of a contact, thus creating ghost contacts. (ER# 215254139)

Known Issues and Recommendations

It is not possible to use Genesys Administrator to uninstall UCS Manager (or any client application).


The Correction Tool functionality does not work correctly in UCS Manager 8.1.300.05. To use the Correction Tool, use the 8.1.100.02 release of UCS Manager. (ESR-7216)

The UCS Manager installation package proposes Java 6 only, but UCS Manager also supports Java 7. To operate UCS Manager with Java 7,

  1. Install UCS Manager without binding to Java.
  2. Edit the ucsmanager.bat file to set the path to Java in the following line:
    set JAVACMD="[ToBeChanged: <JDK_HOME value>]\bin\javaw.exe

Clicking DataCorrection on the Tools menu should open the Data Correction Tool window, but it does not. (ER# 276562111)

It is not recommended that you close and restart UCS Manager while a correction task (diagnose or fix) is running. In some cases, some information displayed in the Data Integrity Correction window may be wrong. For example:

To be sure that the displayed information is correct:

  1. Stop the current task (or wait for the tasks to end for all selected issues).
  2. Close and reopen UCS Manager.
  3. Open the Data Integrity Correction window.
From this point on, all the information displayed will be correct.

When you are using the Correction Tool, ensure that the BadContactAttributes issue comes before the GhostContacts in the list of issues. The following sequence demonstrates a common Correction Tool scenario and execution:

UCS Manager does not connect to the backup Configuration Server in the following scenario:

The Records older than heading and Hours field on both the Scheduled task on Main DB and Scheduled task on Archive DB tabs are truncated when displayed in a Korean environment. (ER# 217137281)
