This is a hot fix release of this product. This release contains no new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

Knowledge Manager can now log in to a Configuration Server whose name is something other than the default, confserv. (ER# 305435077)

In this release, the Approve Standard Response and Modify Standard Response privileges are independent of each other. Previously, Approve Standard Response did not work unless Modify Standard Response was assigned as well. (ER# 295719904)

Note: To enable a Person to modify standard responses, you must assign both the View Standard Response and the Modify Standard Response tasks to them. To enable a Person to approve standard responses, you must assign them (a) the Approve Standard Response task and (b) either the View Standard Response or the Create Standard Response task.

Knowledge Manager no longer keeps trying to connect to Configuration Server after receiving a User not found message. (ER# 294686474)

When testing screening rules against the UCS database, Knowledge Manager no longer returns false positives. Previously, when testing a rule that included the negative operator [!], such as !Find("account"), which asks for items that do not contain the string account, Knowledge Manager would incorrectly return items that did contain the string as well as items that did not.

When testing against specially-created texts, Knowledge Manager previously behaved correctly and continues to do so. (ER# 302207194)

HTML files whose names contain accented characters can now be imported into the HTML part tab of a standard response. (ER# 295557901)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

Knowledge Manager does not support the use of 64-bit Java. Because Webrenderer does not initialize correctly, the New and Edit Standard Response windows are blank. (ER# 278949903)

Found In: 8.1.000.01 Fixed In:

In Citrix deployments, the first instance of Knowledge Manager locks the log file, and other instances of Knowledge Manager cannot update it. Logs for instances of Knowledge Manager other than the first one are available only in the console. (ER# 273766111)

Found In: 8.0.210.03 Fixed In:

If you use Internet Explorer 6 as your browser, the Knowledge Manager HTML standard response editor does not behave correctly. (ER# 268912636)

Found In: 8.0.100.11 Fixed In:

Import and export may be canceled when importing or exporting training objects on Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows 2008. This happens if User Account Control is set to on, or if the user does not have permission to write files to the Knowledge Manager home folder. This situation may be signaled by:

As a workaround, do one of the following: (ER# 256536114)

Found In: 8.0.100.11 Fixed In:

Knowledge Manager cannot be uninstalled using Genesys Administrator. (ER# 247312737)

Found In: 8.0.100.11 Fixed In:

Export of Knowledge Manager objects to the default directory proposed by Knowledge Manager does not work (this directory is <user>\Documents on Windows 2008 and Vista, and My Documents on Windows 2003). As a workaround, save the export file to any other location. (ER# 243294546)

Found In: 8.0.100.11 Fixed In:

Webrenderer causes JVM to exit on Windows Vista if the operating system is running on a virtual machine. (ER# 230771291)

Found In: 8.0.000.08 Fixed In:

Sometimes, when you refresh the Knowledge Manager screen, the following message appears in the log:

(ER# 214183531)

Found In: 7.6.100.07 Fixed In:

Consider the following scenario:

  1. A screening rule specifies an address with a display name (also known as a complex decorated address); for example, "BobbieM"robertmorton@enterprise.com.
  2. In the Test messages area of the Screening Rule Editor, test the rule against a message with the equivalent ordinary address, such as robertmorton@enterprise.com.
The rule ought to match this message, but the returned result is "does not match". (ER# 200058581)

Found In: 7.6.100.07 Fixed In:

The Description attribute of standard responses must be no more than 254 characters. However, you should use caution when giving this attribute a value which approaches the limit. An issue in Configuration Server causes it to consider any single quote character in these attributes to be two characters. Therefore, a Description of exactly 254 characters that includes a single quote character is converted to more than 254 characters, and so is not stored in the Configuration Server database. (ER# 82351161)

Found In: 7.5.000.08 Fixed In:
