Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

Co-Browsing Server does not currently support Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64.

The KANA Response Live Server Installation Guide, which is supplied with Co-Browsing Server on the Web Collaboration product CD, uses the American typographical style of placing periods and commas inside of quotation marks regardless of whether the period or comma belongs to the quoted material. This may cause confusion; for example, on page 13-58 there is this bullet point:

In fact the password is bar and the period (full stop) inside the quotation marks is the sentence punctuation, not part of the password. So you should assume that for any name or other word that occurs inside quotation marks at the end of a sentence, the period is not part of the name or word. (ER# 273170048)

Co-browsing does not work correctly with the 1.6.0_20 java plugin for a client that joins an existing session, if the co-browsing occurs in a separate browser window. Under these circumstances, text does not display, although other items, such as links, images, text input fields, and buttons, display correctly. This issue does not occur for the client that initiates the co-browse session, and it does not occur if the co-browsed content is displayed in a frame.

As a workaround, upgrade to Java plug-in 1.6.0._21. (ER# 260977582)

Found In: 8.0.000.00 Fixed In:

On a Unix host, when Co-Browsing Server stops, all Java applications on that host stop as well. This is due to the /usr/bin/pkill java command in the hipctl_stop.sh file. (ER# 207151453)

Found In: 7.6.100.02 Fixed In:

On Unix, the JRE_HOME variable must point to the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) bundled with the KANA Response Live server, located at <KANA_HOME>/java2. If JRE_HOME points to any other instance of JRE, the KANA Response Live server does not start. (ER# 106227178)

Found In: 7.5.005.00 Fixed In:

When a co-browse client joins an existing co-browse session involving several shared web pages that were opened prior to the connection, some pages in the corresponding customer co-browse windows may appear blank or broken. (ER# 76118405)

Found In: 7.5.005.00 Fixed In: 7.6.100.02

Co‑Browsing Server cannot be stopped from the Solution Control Interface (SCI). (ER# 35621182)

Found In: 7.2.000.05 Fixed In:

Pressing the F5 key inadvertently closes the Co-Browse session. (ER# 30412741)

Found In: 7.2.000.03 Fixed In:
