Social Messaging Server may encounter an issue with TLS that is related to the Java issue described at http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=2215658. To avoid this issue, Genesys recommends using JDK/JRE 1.7.0_2 or higher. A similar issue affecting E-mail Server and UCS is described in the Release Notes for those components.
With the 8.1.4 release, Genesys recommends using
Interaction Server Proxy does not support the Interaction Workspace Plugins for Twitter and Facebook, due to limitations in the External Services Protocol (ESP). (SMD-1371)
The ability to send the ESP request GetChannelsDescription
in broadcast mode
requires Interaction Server 8.1.4 or later.
The 8.1.4 release of Social Messaging Server has the following changes applying to the Facebook media channel:
x-inbound-media-chat
option has been removed
from the channel-<any name>
section.
inbound-media-chat
option has been removed from the channel-<any
name->-monitor-<any name>
section.
inbound-media
cannot be configured on the Channel level for private-messaging
monitors.
It must be configured individually for each private-messaging
monitor.
In 8.1.4, the default value for private-messaging
monitors is facebooksession.
The following issue affects Social Messaging Server, E-mail Server, and UCS.
These components ignore the backup-port
option in a client-side port configuration;
the value of the port
option is used for both primary and backup servers.
(PSDK-6580)
A number of 8.1.4 components have discontinued support of certain platforms and versions, including Java 1.6. For details see the Release Note for each component.
In the 8.1.4 release, the eServices User's Guide has been replaced by the following, all accessible directly from the eServices product page on the Genesys Documentation website:
eServices Knowledge Manager User's Guide provides information about Genesys Knowledge Management, including category structures, standard responses, and screening rules, as well as the natural language processing functionality optionally available as Genesys Content Analyzer.
eServices Interaction Properties Reference Manual provides information about the key-value pairs that represent properties of eServices interactions.
eServices Integrated Capture Points Guide provides information on configuring and using integrated capture points, which are a feature of Interaction Server providing a mechanism for capturing new interactions from external source systems, and for issuing requests to existing interactions.
eServices Multi-tenancy and Load Balancing Guide provides information on configuring multi-tenant environments and on load balancing among multiple instances of certain eServices servers.
In the 8.1.3 release, Knowledge Manager, UCS Manager, Classification Server, and Training Server no longer require the Java Environment and Libraries for eServices and UCS. For these four components, installation instructions that take this change into account can be found in the "Deploying Java Components on 64-bit Windows and UNIX" chapter of the eServices 8.1 Deployment Guide. (Note: In spite of the chapter title, Knowledge Manager does not support 64-bit Java. However the installation instructions in that chapter do apply to Knowledge Manager).
The 8.1.2 release includes the Interaction Management CD, Genesys E-mail, and Social Messaging Management CDs only; refer to the list of CD contents for the version of each individual component. If you use any other eServices components with this release, ensure that they are from the 8.1.0 release.
If you plan to deploy Genesys E-mail or Genesys Chat 8.1.2 using the Configuration Wizards, please consult the Wizard Advisory before proceeding.
With the 8.1.1 release, Genesys recommends using
