The following information applies to Genesys 8.0.x software and is important for you to note:

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize functionality of commercial or non-commercial third parties. For additional information on third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your technical support representative if you have any questions.

This product includes software developed by the Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org/).

The KANA Response Live Server Installation Guide, which is supplied with Co-Browsing Server on the Web Collaboration product CD, uses the American typographical style of placing periods and commas inside of quotation marks regardless of whether the period or comma belongs to the quoted material. This may cause confusion; for example, on page 13-58 there is this bullet point:

In fact the password is bar and the period (full stop) inside the quotation marks is the sentence punctuation, not part of the password. So you should assume that for any name or other word that occurs inside quotation marks at the end of a sentence, the period is not part of the name or word. (ER# 273170048)

All 8.0.2x components that support the AIX operating system can be installed and used on AIX 7.1.

If you experience termination of Universal Routing Server (URS) while processing messages from Social Media sites, please upgrade URS to version 8.1x.

In builds issued after 08/16/10, the following components support Windows 7: Knowledge Manager, UCS Manager, Java Environment and Libraries for eServices and UCS, Interaction Workflow Samples, Web Callback Application, eServices Configuration Wizards, and Installation Starter.

These builds are available on product CDs version 8.0.102.00 or later. You may also contact your Genesys representative for a recent build.

The installation of eServices Configuration Wizards, Interaction Workflow Samples, and Web Callback Application sometimes encounters issues on Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008. The default destination directory of the installation is Program Files or Program Files (x86), but because of issues with security permissions, the installation may be unable to either create a subfolder in that directory or write files to it. As a workaround, do one of the following:

On the Connections tab for each server that supports ADDP there are boxes that specify:

The actual time that it takes the system to react to a failure of the connection or host is equal to twice the timeout plus network latency.

The preceding information is to be substituted for the explanation of Local Timeout and Remote Timeout in Step 3 in the "Disconnect Detection Protocol for Components" section of the "Configuration Options" section of the eServices (Multimedia) 8.0 Reference Manual (p.134 in version 8.0.101.00 of the manual). (ER# 256031948)

Note: Interaction Server and Chat Server are exceptions to the foregoing. Because of an issue in a library that they use, the delay before disconnection by ADDP falls somewhere in the range between the timeout value and twice that. (ER# 255395224, 255395237)

There are the following name changes in release 8.0.1:

The way that Interaction Server connects to ESP (External Services Protocol) servers, such as Chat Server, has changed in release 8.0.1, specifically regarding the configuration of the ESP port. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the description of these changes in the eServices Wizard Advisory and the Release Notes for Interaction Server and Chat Server. If this connection is not configured properly, the components will be unable to communicate.

Starting with eServices 8.0.1, the UCS Transition Tool (in its most recent version 8.0.0) is on its own separate CD. The Transition Tool converts a 6.5.x Contact Server database to 8.0.0, which can then be upgraded to 8.0.1 using the scripts provided with UCS.

There is no 8.0.1 release of Genesys Web Collaboration. The 8.0.0 release is compatible with eServices 8.0.1.

eServices 8.0.1 provides the following limited support for Genesys Administrator:

Interaction Routing Designer (IRD) 8.0 includes four new Multimedia objects in the Multimedia toolbar to support eServices 8.0.1: Render Message Content, Find Interaction, Update Interaction, and Update UCS Record. In addition, the Set Strategy State object on the Workflow and Resource Management toolbar has been renamed to Set Multimedia Strategy State. This object was enhanced to allow the selection of a specific Interaction Server and Universal Routing Server that will be affected by its operation. To learn more about these objects, please see the document New Multimedia Objects in IRD 8.0 for eServices 8.0.1.

Advanced Disconnect Detection Protocol (ADDP) is not supported between Genesys Message Server and the following eServices servers:

In any case, ADDP is of no benefit for this connection because: Furthermore on Solaris, and with JVM 1.5 or earlier, using ADDP may lead to eServices Java servers losing their connections to Message Server.
