Note: As of December 2016, new License Reporting Manager (LRM) 8.5 installations are no longer permitted for any customer. Starting with Configuration Server 8.5.101.00 (released December 2016), LRM 8.5 can no longer be integrated with Configuration Server. See the Technical Advisory for more information. This procedure is for historical reference only.
This deployment procedure applies to the releases of License Reporting Manager listed in the Release table, above. Click the link in the Release table for the version you are deploying to jump to a description of how to deploy License Reporting Manager using the package you received from Genesys. Most releases use the same standard deployment procedure.
If your release requires a specialized procedure, the link in the Release table takes you to a header specifying the version number and date of the release.
To deploy this package, do the following:
To deploy this installation package within a new environment or to install the 8.5.x release over a prior 8.1.2 or 8.1.1 release, follow the instructions in the License Reporting Manager 8.5 Deployment Guide.
To install the 8.5.x release of License Reporting Manager over the prior 8.1.0 or 8.0.x release, use this Deployment Procedure.
Notes:
Review all steps before performing any of them.
Plan a time when you can complete the installation in one continuous session.
No database migration steps are required when upgrading LRM from release 8.1.1 or 8.1.2 to 8.5.0.
LRM must have permission to write the entitlement information into the Transactions of the Environment tenant when it imports the license file. See how to configure the LRM application in the License Reporting Manager 8.5 Deployment Guide.
You must migrate Management Framework to release 8.5.x. See installation prerequisites in the License Reporting Manager 8.5 Deployment Guide and "Framework Migration" in the Genesys Migration Guide.
Ensure that:
Your target computer meets the platform and component prerequisites that are listed in the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
You have installation rights.
You have the Oracle SQL Developer tool installed on a computer that is able to access the Oracle database used to store License Reporting Manager data.
The Local and System License Reporting Manager from the previous LRM release are not running. You do not need to stop any other applications that provide data to License Reporting Manager, during this deployment.
You create backup copies of both your Local and System LRM databases before you begin this deployment.
If migrating from License Reporting Manager release 8.0, you must first perform the Standard Deployment Procedure for Migrating to 8.1.0.
Follow the installation procedure in the License Reporting Manager 8.5 Deployment Guide to install and configure the current release of LRM.
To migrate from release 8.1.0 to release 8.5.x:
Copy the upgrade810to811.sql
file from the <LRM installation directory>/sql/oracle/
directory
on the newly installed LRM server to the server where you installed the Oracle SQL Developer tool.
Start Oracle SQL Developer and connect to the Oracle Database using the credentials for the user
you configured with the main
role to copy data from the old System LRM 8.1.0 database to the new database.
Run the upgrade810to811.sql
script to import data from the previous release to the new release.

script installed in <LRM INSTALL DIR>/sql/mssql/
.Note: If your deployment does not use a replicated database, you do not need to perform this step. See (LRM-496) in the License Reporting Manager 8.5 Release Note.
