On an AIX platform that is using LPAR, CPU usage is now reported correctly. (MFWK-13854, ER# 316818503)


LCA no longer incorrectly detects an application as having stopped responding and does not try to restart it, in the following scenario:

  1. You are using an application in your configuration that is configured to use hangup detection and has the hangup-restart option set to true.
  2. You decrease the value of the heartbeat-period option by a large amount.

Previously, LCA sometimes incorrectly detected the application as having stopped responding, and tried to restart it.

LCA now reports the correct value for process memory usage exceeding 2 GB. Previously in this scenario, LCA sometimes reported a negative value. (MFWK-12498, ER# 265486037)


Hangup detection now works correctly for a thread of class <n> if the configuration option heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n> for this thread class is set to zero (0); that is, if heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n>=0. Previously in this scenario, the heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n> options set to zero (0) had to be removed for the hangup detection feature worked correctly. (MFWK-12218, ER# 254247051)

If start and stop scripts are used and autorestart is configured for Genesys applications, if an application exits unexpectedly, LCA will now properly restart it using the start command from the start script instead of from the command line. Previously, LCA would incorrectly use the start command from the command line. (ER# 296763057)


LCA now correctly handles the following scenario:

  1. Some applications running on the same host as LCA and on which the hangup detection feature is enabled have the configuration option hangup-restart set to true.
  2. LCA tries to stop any unresponsive application.

LCA no longer considers the applications mentioned in point 1 to be unresponsive and does not try to restart them.

LCA now monitors third-party applications with the start_command option configured in the start_stop section running on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Previously, third-party applications with these settings were not monitored by LCA. (ER# 248063630)

The default port of Genesys Deployment Agent (GDA) has been changed back to 5000. The default port had been changed to 4998 in the previous release of GDA, which sometimes caused backward compatibility problems. However, if port 5000 is not free (for example, if the host uses MS SQL server), specify another port to be used by GDA using the port option in the rdm section of the Host's Annex, then restart GDA using this new port as a parameter. When installing LCA on Linux, the autostart capability is created automatically for the current run level. Previously, autostart was created automatically for only run level 3, and you had to modify your operating system startup scripts for any other run level. (ER# 253817981)


LCA now correctly changes the status of a non-responding application from UNKNOWN to STOPPED when the application stops. Previously, when a non-responding application stopped, its status was not updated by LCA. (ER# 231293263)


The default port number for the Genesys Deployment Agent has been changed to 4998. Previously, the default value was 5000. 5000 is a port number that is often used by other applications, such as MS SQL. (ER# 227680418)


Genesys Deployment Agent will terminate its execution if another application is using the server port that is configured for Genesys Deployment Agent. (ER# 227680416)

On Windows operating systems, LCA can now start without an established connection to the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service, but if so, it cannot report any statistical information for its host. If you always want LCA to start after WMI has initialized and, therefore, provide statistical information for its host, use the following command to set up a dependency of LCA on WMI:

sc config <name_of_your_LCA_service> depend=winmgmt

Previously, LCA had to connect to WMI to start, and if that connection failed during LCA startup, LCA terminated.

Known Issues and Recommendations

LCA assumes that UTF-8 is disabled for command-line parsing if it receives RequestExecuteOSCommand from a SIP Server that is:

If you use a tool other than Windows certificate services to generate the TLS security certificate and then import the certificate to Windows manually, the CERT_TRUST_REVOCATION_STATUS_UNKNOWN validation error will occur and the TLS connection to the Genesys server will fail.

Workaround: Set the client-auth option to 0 (zero) to disable server authentication in the LCA TLS socket. Refer to the Framework 8.1 Configuration Options Reference Manual for a full description of this option and how to use it.

LCA sometimes reports incorrect memory values on the HP-UX PA and HP-UX IPF platforms. (MFWK-14160, ER# 324372558)

If you are using an application in your configuration that is configured to use hangup detection, and you decrease the value of the heartbeat-period option by a large amount, LCA might incorrectly detect the application as having stopped responding. (MFWK-14153, ER# 324295707)

If you are using an application in your configuration that is configured to use hangup detection and has the hangup-restart option set to true, if you decrease the value of the heartbeat-period option by a large amount, LCA can incorrectly detect the application as having stopped responding and tries to restart it. If start and stop scripts are used and autorestart is configured for Genesys applications, if an application exits unexpectedly, LCA will restart it using a value from the command line instead of using the start script. (ER# 296763057)

In the following scenario:

  1. Some applications running on the same host as LCA and on which the hangup detection feature is enabled have the configuration option hangup-restart set to true.
  2. LCA tries to stop any unresponsive application.

LCA considers all of the applications mentioned in point 1 to be unresponsive and tries to restart them.

This behavior is caused by operating system interference that may block access to applications while performing certain operations, such as start, stop, continue, and restart.

Hangup detection works incorrectly for a thread of class <n> if the configuration option heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n> for this thread class is set to zero (0); that is, if heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n>=0.

Workaround: Remove the heartbeat-period-thread-class-<n> options that are set to zero (0).

An application that supports hangup detection and for which the feature is configured may be incorrectly detected as unresponsive if there are third-party applications configured on the same host, or if there are CPU- or memory-based alarm conditions configured for the host.
