A slowdown in the performance of IWD Data Mart ETL jobs has been corrected by making the Classify plugin more efficient. (IWD-3483)

A performance improvement in iWD Data Mart can be made by disabling the following triggers (if enabled):

To implement the improvement, update the Event Log database schema as follows:

  1. Login to iWD.
  2. Go to the Services tab.
  3. Expand the solution and choose Configure Ixn Custom Properties.
  4. Click the Configure Ixn Custom Properties button.

If the Event Log database is running on an Oracle database engine, you must also manually truncate the following tables:

(IWD-3488, IWD-3492)

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This section describes new features and functionality that were introduced in this release of iWD Data Mart:

Corrections and Modifications

This release contains the following corrections and modifications:

Performance problems with ETL jobs, particularly the Prune job, have been corrected by simplifying the Prune 'delete' statements. To make the simplified Prune job work correctly, the following query must be executed on the Event Log database:

update rpt_esp

   set interactionid = (

    select interactionid

    from rpt_esp rr

    where rpt_esp.request_uuid = rr.request_uuid

    and rr.eventid = 193

   )

In addition a new option, pruneOrphaned, is added to the Kettle ETL Service. When its value is set to true, the Prune job removes orphaned events (that are not relevant to Data Mart) from the Event Log database, in the following circumstances:

Note: With this change you must also set the value of Interaction Server configuration option ignore-read-only-on-change to true to ensure that Department and Process are set correctly for a task.

(IWD-3362)

A discrepancy between the count of the I_TASK_FACT data and the actual interaction count in Interaction Server has been corrected. Previously, if a task in its final state (rejected/cancelled/completed) was updated, in some scenarios the completed_date_key parameter was set to null. This prevented these tasks being moved to the historical tables. This no longer occurs for for new tasks, which are now correctly handled. However, for existing tasks, the completed_date_key parameter will have to be updated manually. (ER# 321297656)

New in This Release

This is a hot fix release of this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of iWD Data Mart.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

iWD Data Mart's Aggregate Intraday, New, and Completed 30 minute aggregate jobs have been corrected. Previously, these jobs had the same values as the 15 minute aggregates. (ER# 283736143)

iWD Data Mart's Prune job no longer issues a null pointer exception if it is launched before the Load Intraday job, or if there are no events to prune. (ER# 283736135)

Connection pooling has been improved in iWD Data Mart. Previously, in some scenarios, connection errors occured due to pooling. (ER# 281524964)

iWD Data Mart now correctly supports the Interaction Server Event Log Database running on DB2. Previously, iWD Data Mart issued a driver not found message. To properly enable Event Log Database support on DB2, specify the following URLs in the Event Log DAP's jdbc section:
jdbc:db2://server_name:port/database

If Interaction Server's Interaction database is also running on DB2, add the jdbc section to the Interaction Database DAP, the same as for the Event Log Database DAP. (ER# 281465716)

iWD Data Mart's Aggregate Statistics job now works correctly in multi-tenant environments (when the same iWD Configuration database is used for multiple iWD Tenants). Previously, the job only finished the execution on the first tenant. (ER# 275453973)

iWD Data Mart Aggregate Intraday job now works correctly in multi-tenant environments (when the same iWD Configuration database is used for multiple iWD Tenants). Previously, the job loaded the data for the first tenant only.

Note:Proceed as follows if you encounter this issue and are using the same iWD Data Mart database for all Solutions:

  1. Undeploy all Solutions from all Tenants.
  2. Export the system configuration and configuration of all Tenants from iWD Manager.
  3. Delete and recreate the iWD Manager database.
  4. Import the system configuration.
  5. Create your Tenants.
  6. Import the Tenant configuration accordingly.
  7. Delete all iWD Data Mart databases (it is mandatory to have a dedicated iWD Data Mart database per solution).
  8. Create all iWD Data Mart databases.
  9. Configure your Solutions to use the proper iWD Data Mart databases.
  10. If multiple Solutions are running on the same Runtime Node, you must configure execution queues for iWD Data Mart jobs such that the queue names are unique per Solution.
  11. Deploy the Solutions one at a time.
  12. Perform the Initialize job.
  13. Load the configuration and the rest of the jobs should be run as usual.

If you do not run multiple Solutions on a single iWD Data Mart database, you are not required to perform these steps. (ER# 275453873)

iWD Data Mart's Load Historical job now correctly moves canceled tasks from the Intraday to the Historical tables. (ER# 269769272)

New in This Release

This is a hot fix release of this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of iWD Data Mart.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

iWD Data Mart's Prune job now removes events from the event log database only for tasks that are no longer present in the Interaction Server database. You will need to make the following updates manually in order to take advantage of this functionality:

  1. If you are using an Oracle database, add the jdbc option in the Interaction Server Database Access Point (DAP). On the Options tab, create a new section called jdbc.In the jdbc section, create an option called url. For the option value, enter your jdbc connection string to the Interaction Server database that is running on your Oracle database server. The connection string should be in the following format:
    jdbc:evo:oracle:@//<database server host name>:1521/<interaction server database name>
  2. If you are using the event filtering features in your Interaction Server Event Logger DAP, set the event-filter-by-id option in the event-filtering section to log events with id = 161.
  3. Remove all etl_audit rows for the Prune job, by executing the following query: DELETE FROM etl_audit WHERE process_name = 'prune'. This final step is necessary only for deployments in which the Prune job has already run at least once. For new deployments, this step is not needed.

After these steps are done, one full successful run of the Load Intraday job must be executed before running the Prune job. (ER# 277051821)

iWD Data Mart's Load Intraday job now correctly handles custom attributes that contain apostrophes ('). Previously, the job failed if a task's custom attribute contained an apostrophe. (ER# 274228576)

An empty iWD Data Mart database now initializes successfully when iWD is running on AIX, and at least one of the aggregation plug-ins is enabled. Previously, the database initialization failed in this scenario. (ER# 269934641)

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

iWD Data Mart's Load Intraday job and Aggregate Intraday job performance has been improved. Previously, these jobs were not able to keep up with even a moderate amount of events in the Event Log Database. (ER# 276706217)

Prior to version 8.0.002.15, iWD Data Mart's Load Historical job was not able to properly handle restarted tasks, if the tasks were restarted the day after completion. For existing databases: expand the primary key for the H_TASK_FACT table and include the column LAST_TASK_FACT_EVENT_ID in the primary key. New databases (initialized with iWD 8.0.002.15 or later) will have the correct index. (ER# 272187594)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

iWD Data Mart's Aggregate Intraday job now works correctly when the time changes from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. Previously, it would result in an error. (ER# 272066553)

iWD Data Mart's Load Intraday job is now able to track custom attribute changes during the task lifecycle. Previously, only the original values were stored. (ER# 271357203)

iWD Data Mart's Load Intraday job now correctly populates last_assigned_agent_key in the I_TASK_FACT table. Previously, it was reset to NULL. (ER# 271532611)

iWD Data Mart's Load Intraday job now works correctly when workbins are used in a routing strategy. Previously, these work facts were not loaded correctly. (ER# 271532581)

Task work facts now load properly when an interaction is processed through several workbins. (ER# 269761226)

This is a hot fix release of this product. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of iWD Data Mart.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

iWD Data Mart now uses the correct EVENT_DATE key if local time and UTC are in different dates for the same moment in time. (ER# 270951455)

If the time zone offset is negative (such as America/Los Angeles (GMT-8)) for a Kettle ETL service, the Initialize job now completes correctly. Previously, the Initialize job failed in this scenario, which resulted in the database not initializing properly. (ER# 270104326)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications since the previous release of this software:

The Kettle ETL Service now starts correctly on Solaris and Linux operating systems regardless of whether the value of the repositoryDirectory property is terminated with a / (forward slash) character or not. Previously, if the value of that property was missing a / at the end, the service would fail to start. (ER# 264900543)

It is no longer possible to launch load jobs before initialize jobs have finished. Now, the load jobs will fail with an error if they are run before the initialize job has been run. (ER# 258677021)

iWD Data Mart no longer issues a null pointer exception if no rules are executed during the classification or prioritization phases. (ER# 264346971)

iWD Data Mart now calculates statistics correctly for Held tasks. (ER# 264346975)

iWD Data Mart's Prune job now correctly removes records from the rpt_interaction and rpt_esp tables in the Interaction Event Log database. (ER# 264346997)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

Deployment Guide erratum: The Updating the Interaction Server Databases procedure on page 86 should contain an additional step 5 as follows:

"5. Add the event-filtering section to the Event Logger DAP, then add the option event-filter-by-id with the following value:

104, 132, 133, 161, 162, 163, 193, 194, 200, 201"

(IWD-3143)

Found In Document Version:  8.0 Fixed In:  8.1

When initializing an empty iWD Data Mart database using the scripts provided under Data Mart install location\scripts\DB\ , multiple errors will be displayed about existing objects. Although the functionality of Data Mart is not affected, it is recommended to either use the dbup utility to initialize the Data Mart database or allow the Kettle ETL service to initialize the Data Mart database during the first deployment. If the DB Administrator wants to verify the script before running it against the actual database, it is recommended to use the dbup utility for datamart: dbup_dm >output.sql, then inspect the output.sql script and launch it against the database. (ER# 292007851)

Found In: 8.0.002.21 Fixed In: 8.0.003.14

If the time zone offset is negative (such as GMT-4) for a Kettle ETL service, the Initialize job fails to complete correctly. As a result, the database is not initialized properly.

Workaround: Use the default timezone setting (GMT+0) in Kettle ETL configuration, and convert the dates in the reports. (ER# 270104326)

Found In: 8.0.002.08 Fixed In: 8.0.200.10

The initialization of the iWD Data Mart database does not work correctly on AIX, if you are initializing an empty database and there is at least one plugin listed in the plugins.properties file.

Workarounds: To avoid this issue, do one of the following:

(ER# 269934641)

Found In: 8.0.002.08 Fixed In: 8.0.002.17

Load Historical does not move canceled tasks from the I_TASK*_FACT tables to the H_TASK*_FACT tables. (ER# 269769272)

Found In: 8.0.002.08 Fixed In: 8.0.002.20

If an interaction is processed through several workbins, some of the task work facts may not be loaded properly. (ER# 269761226)

When initializing the iWD Data Mart database using the dbup_dm script, the script will report that it is connected to the Runtime database, even if the connection is already made to the Data Mart database. This message can be ignored. (ER# 258677024)

Found In: 8.0.000.20 Fixed In: 8.0.001.06

When configuring iWD Data Mart, do not configure the Load Configuration job to start automatically, in order to avoid the possibility of it running before before the Initialize job has been run. After a successful run of the Initialize job, you can configure the Load Configuration job to start automatically and run on a 15 minute schedule. After you make this change, deploy the solution again. (ER# 258677021)
