Build 2 of the installation package includes compatibility improvements. (IW-17421)

The resiliency of the HTTP connection from Workspace to Workspace SIP Endpoint has been improved. This setup is typically used in VDI environments. (IW-17081)

You can now specify the maximum RTP packet size, in bytes (including the RTP header, but not counting the UDP and IP overhead) for video codecs. Use the maxpkt parameter in the sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.video option. For example:

    "sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.video" = "vp8,maxpkt=1342"

Valid values for the maxpkt parameter are integers from 1024 to 1472, The default value is 1442. If you specify a number outside of the valid range, the value is adjusted to the closest valid value. (IW-17065)

Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer tries to use SRTP when non-secure RTP is selected. Previously, starting with version 8.5.115.36, in an environment where the SRTP elective mode was configured, SRTP might have been used when RTP was selected. (IW-16999)

Workspace SIP Endpoint can now include a 'ptime' parameter in an outgoing SDP. To enable this feature, include the key-value pair 'ptime'=x with the value of the sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.audio option, where x is the value associated with the 'ptime' paramter. For example:

    "sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.audio" = "g729,pcmu,ptime=40"

Valid values for the 'ptime' parameter depend on which codecs are enabled. For example:

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

Workspace SIP Endpoint now detects if multiple Standalone instances are running simultaneously on the same Windows user session. A message dialog box is displayed to notify the agent that the new instance cannot start because another one is already running. Previously, in some connection scenarios, multiple instances of Standalone Workspace SIP Endpoint could run in parallel. (IW-16632)

In Standalone mode, the restart of Workspace SIP Endpoint after an agent logout from Workspace Desktop Edition was improved. Previously, the restart procedure might have failed due to a race condition with the release of the network resources of the previous Workspace SIP Endpoint instance; this situation required a manual restart of Workspace SIP Endpoint. (IW-16560)

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The default value of the sipendpoint.policy.endpoint.rtp_inactivity_timeout option is now set to 30 seconds. Previously, it was set to the invalid value 0 which resulted in the fall-back value 150 being applied. The documentation now correctly states that the valid value for this option is a number of seconds between 5 and 150. (IW-15622)

Workspace SIP Endpoint is now able to correctly detect that the workstation on which it is running was assigned a new IP address, for example when switching from a wired network connection to a WiFi connection, and to re-register to SIP Server with this new address, assuming this new address matches the rules configured in the public_address option. (IW-15607)

The management of stuck calls in Workspace SIP Endpoint has been improved. Previously, in some scenarios where new calls were distributed to agents shortly after the previous call was released, some new calls were cleared while they were ringing in Workspace SIP Endpoint. This fix requires Workspace Desktop Edition 8.5.127.05 or higher. (IW-15125)

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The values of the options sipendpoint.policy.device.audio_in_device and sipendpoint.policy.device.audio_out_device are now correctly taken into account when they are specified with the entire name of the audio device. (IW-15168)

When the value of the sipendpoint.policy.device.use_headset option is set to 1, Workspace SIP Endpoint now selects the Default Communication Device specified in Windows Audio Settings in situations where the value of the sipendpoint.policy.device.headset_name option is empty or configured with a value that does not match any audio device on the workstation. (IW-15167)

Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer drops an outgoing call in situations where the initial INVITE transaction interlaces with the transaction of the subsequent REINVITE. Previously, when the ACK message of the initial INVITE was received after the subsequent REINVITE, the call made by the agent was immediately dropped. (IW-15148)

Workspace SIP Endpoint now initializes correctly when non-critical settings are missing in the initialization information provided by Workspace Desktop Edition. Previously, when attributes such as sipendpoint.system.diagnostics.log_options_provider were missing, Workspace SIP Endpoint failed to initialize. (IW-15105)

You can once again build a ClickOnce package to deploy Workspace SIP Endpoint as a plugin to Workspace Desktop Edition or as a standalone application. Previously, starting with Workspace SIP Endpoint 8.5.112.02, it was no longer possible to build such a ClickOnce package. Note: The Deployment Manager included with Workspace Desktop Edition 8.5.118.10 is required to build a ClickOnce package containing only Workspace SIP Endpoint, in the context of standalone deployment. (IW-14435)

The sipendpoint.headset-* and sipendpoint.policy.session.reject_session_when_headset_na options now work as documented when the value of the sipendpoint.policy.device.headset_name option is configured correctly. Previously, starting with 8.5.112.02, the headset connection/deconnection was not properly interpreted and the option did not operate as expected. (IW-14377)

The sipendpoint.policy.endpoint.webrtc_audio_layer option (or webrtc_audio_layer when specified in the sipendpoint.config file) has been extended with new valid values. The list of valid values is now:

Specifying the value 2000 eliminates any delay in opening the audio device when an incoming or outgoing call is connected, for example, in environments where audio device startup is slow due to a required restart of the Windows MMCSS service. (IW-14544)

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

Workspace SIP Endpoint configured to run in standalone mode is now able to accept a Secured HTTP connection from a Workspace Desktop Edition instance running in a VDI environment. Previously, after installation of a Microsoft Security Patch released in Q2 2016, the Secured HTTP connection was no longer possible. (IW-13031)

A call that was put on hold using the Workspace Desktop Edition UI Front End is no longer forced to the ESTABLISHED state when Workspace SIP Endpoint receives a SIP RE-INVITE message during the On Hold phase. (IW-12972)

Automatic selection of a local IP address used in SIP REGISTER has been improved to take the 'Metric' network adapter parameter into account, so that a correct address is obtained in the case where multiple adapters are available, particularly in the case when a VPN is used. Previously in this scenario, Workspace SIP Endpoint might have incorrectly picked up an IP address from a no longer used adapter. (IW-12964)

    New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. No new features are introduced in this release of Workspace SIP Endpoint.

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

In scenarios where Workspace SIP Endpoint sends an Unregister request to SIP Server when it finalizes, but does not receive an acknowledgement, Workspace SIP Endpoint now exits as expected after a timeout period. Previously in this scenario, Workspace SIP Endpoint did not correctly stop and then was reused the next time that Workspace was logged in. This lead to incorrect execution, causing Workspace SIP Endpoint to exit unexpectedly when executing various operations, such as adjusting the volume control. (IW-12290)

Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer stops responding in scenarios where it previously failed to allocate a video capture device; for example, if the video capture device was incorrectly configured in the system. (IW-12266)

Workspace SIP Endpoint is now able to detect when the audio layer is stuck, such as when incoming RTP packets are received but no audio frames are played to the device. If the audio layer becomes stuck, Workspace SIP Endpoint now restarts the playback to the device. To enable this capability, set the value of the sipendpoint.policy.session.restart_audio_if_stuck Workspace option to 1. (IW-12257)

The value of the sipendpoint.codecs.h264.payload_type Workspace application option or the <setting name="payload_type"> value in the sipendpoint.config file, are now correctly taken into account. Previously, the specified payload type was not taken into account, resulting in the default value 108 being used as the RTP payload for H264 streams. (IW-12193)

Workspace SIP Endpoint is now able to execute first-party call control call release in scenarios where Workspace detects that a stuck SIP Call remains in the SIP Endpoint. This capability is supported by Workspace Desktop Edition 8.5.111.xx and higher. (IW-10504)

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

When a call is on hold and the value of the sipendpoint.policy.endpoint.rtp_inactivity_timeout option is set to a value greater than zero, Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer automatically finalizes the call. Previously in this scenario, the call was automatically released when the time spent in the hold state reached the specified timeout value. (IW-10189)

In SIP environments where a SIP Entity, such as AudioCode Gateway, populates the Session Description Protocol (SDP) offer by using the Microsoft extension non-standard crypto attribute in the media stream with RTP/AVP transport, Workspace SIP Endpoint now ignores the crypto attribute (conforming to RFC 4568). Previously, when the crypto attribute was present, Workspace SIP Endpoint incorrectly turned on SRTP without providing crypto keys in the answer SDP. This scenario resulted in noisy calls. (IW-10015)

Workspace SIP Endpoint now implements its own application level mechanism to manage the mute call feature instead of using the system level function. The system level function muted all applications that were running through the same playback device. (IW-9837)

The input and output devices that are specified by the sipendpoint.policy.device.audio_in_device and sipendpoint.policy.device.audio_out_device options are now correctly taken into account. Previously, the default devices that were specified by the Windows Sound control panel were selected instead. (IW-8988)

If the workstation where Workspace is running has more than one IP address, Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer registers to SIP Server by using a local IP Address that cannot be reached by SIP Server. It is no longer necessary to disable the unused network adapter. (IW-8577)

Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer displays incoming video that is formatted in the 16:9 ratio with some distortion. Previously, Workspace SIP Endpoint always displayed incoming video by using the 4:3 ratio. (IW-8421)

In environments where the value of the sipendpoint.policy.session.auto_accept_video option is set to 1, which enables the video capability of the endpoint, Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer always activates and links to the default video camera for the entire agent login session, even if there is no active video call. Previously in this scenario, the video device could not be used by another application. (IW-8408)

    Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 8.1 or earlier releases and the initial 8.5 release:

Workspace SIP Endpoint no longer accepts an incoming call when it receives a SIP Server NOTIFY request if it is already handling an active call. Previously, if a second call was placed to another party and was not yet answered before the SIP Endpoint received an INVITE for the first call, when the agent answered the second call and then external party accepted the first call, the two calls could have been mixed. (IW-7639)
