Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesys.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 8.1 releases of IVR Library.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Use of Third-Party Software

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information on third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your Customer Care representative if you have any questions.

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This release contains the following new functionality:

• IVR Library now supports an additional API ilSRqUDataGetList , with the following syntax:

  ilRQ ilSRqUDataGetList (ilRQ, ilPORT, CPSTR);

  The ilSRqUDataGetList() function gets a list of key-data pairs for the call that is residing on the specified IVR port. The supplied list of keys must contain a delimiter at the start of the list, between each key name, and at the end of the list. For example,
  

  :key:key3:key1:

  A subsequent ilGetReply will then return the requested keys and their values as a single list, such as:
  

  :key:dataforkey:key3:key3sdata:key1:data1:

  If a requested key-data pair does not exist, NoMatch is returned for its value.

  The XML message generated by this API is UDataGetAll.

Corrections and Modifications

This release contains the following corrections and modifications:

IVR Library now functions correctly when processing connections requests. (ER# 309468721, IVR-2717)

A socket flush routine is now used to ensure that the XML messages going to IVR Server are always sent promptly. (IVR-2718)

IVR Library now applies the log_print_send and log_print_recv configuration settings correctly. (IVR-2719)

IVR Library no longer becomes unresponsive if the 6.5 configuration mode is used. (IVR-2720)

IVR Library now properly handles both multiple XML messages contained within a single TCP/IP frame, as well as disconnect/reconnect sequences that in some cases caused improper operation of IVR Library. (IVR-2721)

This release fixes the memory leaks or instability that were previously caused by the common library code utilized in IVR Library. (IVR-2722)

IVR Library no longer becomes unstable if a keep-alive request is received between a login request message and the login response message. (IVR-2723)

IVR Library no longer becomes unstable when processing multiple common connection threads. (IVR-2724)

IVR Library no longer causes an IVR Driver to disconnect from Configuration Server. (IVR-2725)

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.1 release of IVR Library.

• The ability to utilize IPv6 protocol to connect to IVR Server.
  
  Limitation: Usage of IPv6 on Solaris is supported for Solaris version 10 only.

• The ability to retrieve call information of type UUID.

• The ability to retrieve call information of type ThirdPartyDN.

• Optionally, call information of type All may now be configured on IVR Server to also return either UUID and/or ThirdPartyDN.

Corrections and Modifications

There are no corrections or modifications in the initial 8.1 release of IVR Library.

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

There may be erroneous commonlib messages that show if and only if 6.5 configuration mode is used. These messages indicate Common: error -instance is not initialized, but operation is not effected. (IVR-2783)

The UDataAddList and UDataGetList methods have a restriction on the List of Key-Value pairs or List of Keys provided on the call, as well as upon the response provided. The delimiter specified as the first character in the provided List must not be contained in the Keys or Values specified, and must not be contained within the response data.

Also, if the default value for the configuration option, log_print_ud_delimiter, is chosen, then values must not contain the “:” (colon). If values are required to contain a colon, then setting the log_print_ud_delimiter option to a value other than “:” or “|” (pipe) will allow the colon within the value to be handled correctly. IVR Library may malfunction when processing connections requests. (ER# 309468721)

Discontinued Support

This section documents features that are no longer supported in this software. This cumulative list is in release-number order with the most recently discontinued features at the top of the list.

The AIX 5.3 operating system is no longer supported.

The Solaris 8 operating system is no longer supported.

The UnixWare operating system is no longer supported.
