Introduction

This wizard advisory contains general information about the IVR Interface Option Wizard, including any limitations or restrictions.

The IVR Interface Option Wizard supports installation, configuration, and dynamic modification of contact center objects. The wizard also initiates the application deployment process by pre-configuring an application, customizing and copying a relevant installation package, and reminding users to run the setup and the application executable.

About This Wizard

Please note the following information about the IVR Interface Option Wizard:

Note: Genesys solutions may sometimes utilize functionality from commercial or non‑commercial third parties, when such solutions are determined to provide quality approaches to items Genesys would otherwise have to raise costs to implement.

The information in this advisory is needed to correctly use this wizard to configure Genesys IVR Interface Option. Print this advisory before running the IVR Interface Option Wizard.

The IVR Interface Option Wizard supports most of the new features introduced in IVR Interface Option 7.5. You can use it to configure the IVR Server and IVR Driver components of IVR Interface Option 7.5.

Notes:

Before you can use the IVR Interface Option Wizard to configure IVR Server and IVR Drivers, you must do the following:

  1. Install the Genesys Wizard Manager from the Management Framework product CD, if it has not already been installed in your environment. It must be installed on the same machine as Configuration Manager.

  2. Install the IVR Interface Option Wizard from the IVR Server product CD. It must be installed on the same machine as the Genesys Wizard Manager and Configuration Manager.

  3. Collect information that you will be asked to enter when you run the wizard. For a list of information to collect, see the Manual Configuration chapter of the IVR Interface Option 7.5 IVR Server System Administrator’s Guide.

  4. Enable the correct licenses for IVR Server. For information on how to enable licensing, see the Genesys 7 Licensing Guide and the IVR Interface Option 7.5 IVR Server System Administrator’s Guide.

The IVR Port Wizard now creates all Agent options with default values (if an option does not exist) before displaying the Agent page. (ER# 34706035)

The IVR Driver Wizard now creates the load_sharing_iservers option in the ivr_server_interface section. (ER# 82390067)

In some IVR Interface Option Wizard screens, to enter an application name in a field, you must click the Browse button next to the field. In some cases, the Browse dialog box that is displayed serves two functions—you can select an existing application name displayed in the Browse dialog box, or you can create a new application using the New Application icon at the top of the Browse dialog box.

The IVR Interface Option Wizard supports Configuration Units by allowing you to specify the folder where the objects you create will be located.

Before using the Wizard Manager, make sure Configuration Server and its corresponding DB Server are running. Configuration Manager does not need to be running for the Wizard Manager to operate. You must install the IVR Wizard before you can start Wizard Manager from Configuration Manager.

Genesys strongly recommends that you do not include spaces or dots in names when creating applications in the Configuration Database, whether installing with the wizard or manually.

Limitations and Restrictions

This section provides the latest information on limitations or restrictions associated with the IVR Interface Option Wizard:

If you are running Genesys software in a mixed operating system (Windows and another) environment and using multiple character sets, you must configure the default character set for the non-Windows operating system to match the Windows character set.

For example, if the software is running in the Japanese Solaris environment, you must change the default charset from "EUC-JP" to "Shift_JIS" (Windows character set) by typing the command set LANG=”ja_JP.PCK” in the *.sh shell. (ER# 58234)

The IVR Interface Option Wizard cannot be used to configure IVR Driver applications for UnixWare drivers, including Aspect CSS on UnixWare and CONVERSANT.

During configuration of the I-Server application, the IVR Interface Option wizard displays a dialog box where you can specify statistics for the I-Server application to monitor. Before these statistics can be monitored by the I-Server application, they must be defined in the TimeProfiles section of the Options tab for the Stat Server application. See the Framework 7.5 Stat Server User’s Guide for more information on configuring TimeProfiles options.

When you select an existing 6.5, 7.0, 7.1 or 7.2 I-Server application in the IVR Interface Option Wizard, the wizard upgrades it to release 7.5. If you upgrade an existing 6.5, 7.0, 7.1 or 7.2 I-Server application, you must upgrade the corresponding TServer_IVR application. If you choose to create a new I-Server application for release 7.5 instead, you must also create a new TServer_IVR application.

The IVR Interface Option Wizard is not localized in release 7.5. However, when operating with a localized version of Configuration Server and/or on a localized version of Windows, the Wizard displays part of the text in the local language. As a result, the wizard screens contain text partially in English and partially in the local language.
