Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 8.1 releases of Genesys Voice Platform (GVP) Supplementary Services Gateway.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information about third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Contact your customer care representative if you have any questions.

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Voice Platform Supplementary Services Gateway (SSG).

• 32-bit SSG application binaries are available for Windows and Linux 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
• 64-bit SSG application binaries are available for Windows and Linux 64-bit operating systems.
• Dual stack IPv6, IPv4.
• Support for SIP Server High Availability.
• SSG now uses Fetching Module instead of Page Collector.
• This release adds ADDP trace support to the CCILib library, so that any Genesys Voice Platform component which uses CCILib will print the corresponding trace logs when configured to use ADDP.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The Supplementary Services Gateway no longer terminates unexpectedly while cleaning up stuck sessions after an EventError message is returned in response to a DN register request. (ER# 288043111)

When the Supplementary Services Gateway (SSG) is started, the build information is printed in its log file in the following order:

1. The Management Framework libraries and their build versions.
2. The GVP common library and the corresponding component and their build versions.
3. Other third-party dependencies without the version information.

Note that in the Linux operating system, if the ident utility is not installed, then the SSG versions are not printed. (ER# 284220141)

The Supplementary Services Gateway (SSG) no longer creates a Windows registry entry each time it is started. Now, one entry is created the first time that SSG starts after it has been installed. (ER# 281806924)

Deploying any GVP Windows IP through Genesys Administrator no longer results in an error. Previously, an error message might have occasionally occurred even when the deployment was completed successfully. (ER# 258776961)

This is a hot fix for this product. There are no new features in this release of Voice Platform Supplementary Services Gateway (SSG).

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification:

The Supplementary Services Gateway now uses the round-robin algorithm to re-establish a failed connection to SIP Server in High Availability (HA) mode by attempting to connect to the primary SIP Server first and, if there is no response, attempting to connect to the secondary SIP Server. Previously, when the SSG was not using the round-robin algorithm, it would attempt to re-connect to the primary SIP Server only. (ER# 282705783)

Supported Operating Systems

This is the first release for this product. This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.1 release of Voice Platform Supplementary Services Gateway (SSG).

• SSG is a new component, which provides an HTTP interface for submission and management of outbound calling campaigns. SSG makes the outbound calls through TLib requests to SIP Server. It supports both preconnect and postconnect Call Progress Detection (CPD).
