The Reporting Server Client may take a long time to initialize if there is a large amount of data in the local database queue for the Resource Manager, the Media Control Platform, or the Call Control Platform. As a result, the component may take up to several minutes to start up depending on the amount of data that has been queued locally. (ER# 189683144)

On installation, the Reporting Server Installation Package does not verify the state of the Tomcat application server. As a result, Genesys recommends that when installing Tomcat, do not select the option to automatically start Tomcat on system restart. Instead, it is recommended that Genesys Administrator control the Reporting Server/Tomcat startup and shutdown. Also, before installing or upgrading the Reporting Server, verify that the Reporting Server and Tomcat are not running. If Reporting Server or Tomcat is started outside of Genesys Administrator, terminate the tomcat6.exe
process in Windows Task Manager.
Note: If you have accidentally selected to auto start Tomcat as a service, the process will be started on each system reboot. Auto restart can be disabled in the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
, which avoids the need to stop the tomcat6.exe
process on each system restart.

Changing the segment
or the expire
option in the Report Server's [log]
section while the Reporting Server is running, deletes the current log file, after which the new settings takes place. To work around this, you should copy the current log file (renaming it appropriately) before changing the configuration, so that log information is not lost. (ER# 192801273)

In the Reporting Server's [log]
configuration section, the default units, if no units are specified, for the segment size is Bytes, not KB, as is the default with other GVP and Management Framework components that use Management Framework logging. (ER# 192801271)
