The following information applies to Genesys 8.0.x software and is important for you to note:
Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize functionality of commercial or non-commercial third parties. For specific information on any third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me.
The Genesys Administrator deployment capability currently has a number of known issues related to usability. These issues will be addressed in a future release of Genesys Voice Platform (GVP) 8.
For GVP 8.0.0 installations, Genesys recommends that you use the Manual Installation method. For more information on this type of installation, see the Genesys Voice Platform 8.0 Deployment Guide.
Redirecting logs (by setting log output to stdout
or stderr
) while the Media Control Platform is operating under load significantly reduces port-handling capacity and impacts performance.
Squid log files can consume considerable disk space when running under heavy call load conditions. By default, 10 log files are saved to disk by the Squid log rotation function. This can be modified by changing the logfile_rotate
parameter in the squid.conf
configuration file. Consider reducing the number of saved log files if running under a high load or if disk space is limited.
The Genesys logging system is designed to provide maximum throughput for logs and alarms, which are essential troubleshooting tools. Log files are implemented for the storage of high volumes of data, and they are not intended to be a source of real-time information. An opened file cannot be updated constantly because of performance considerations. Therefore, do not open log files to view events happening in the system. Rather, view real-time events through other means, such as the console or the network. The Solution Control Interface provides you with the view that displays log events in real-time for certain applications. For more information on logging, see the Framework 8.0 Solution Control Interface Help file.
