Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 7.6 releases of Genesys Voice Platform (GVP) Reporter.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For specific information on any third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your technical support representative if you have any questions.

• Support for Windows 2008, Standard and Enterprise Editions.
• Support for Windows 2008 R2, Standard and Enterprise Editions.
• After installing the VAR COM client, Launch and Activation permission should be provided to “Everyone” on the VARAgent component. To do that, follow these steps:
  1. Open Component Services.
  2. Expand Component Services->Computers->My Computer->DCOM Config.
  3. Right-click VARAgent and open Properties.
  4. Select the Security tab.
  5. Select the Customize option button (under Launch and Activation Permissions), and click Edit.
  6. Add Everyone and allow all for Everyone.
  7. Click OK for all the dialog boxes.

Reporter now shows the date of the previous day when Yesterday is chosen on the Reporter screen on the DLS Start day. Previously in this scenario, Reporter displayed two days prior to the date. (ER# 245940881)

Supported Operating Systems

New in This Release

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Genesys Voice Platform Reporter.

• Voice Platform Reporter has been enhanced to support more date input formats. Earlier, Reporter supported only two input formats for the date, DD/MM/YYYY, or MM/DD/YYYY based on the locale setting set under the Reporter node of Provisioning. In the current release the Voice Platform Reporter supports DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, and YYYY/MM/DD. Also, the separators can be one of a hyphen (-), a forward slash (/), a period (.), or a blank space.

  The Call Details Search Query screen has been changed to support 24 hour or 12 hour formats for time input based on the locale setting. Earlier, this screen accepted 24 hour time format only.

  Reporter takes the locale setting from the Custom Defaults -> System Defaults -> dateformatlocale parameter of the Provisioning System. It is from this parameter, the Network Monitor GUI reads the locale. Earlier, the locale configuration for Reporter was set with the localestring parameter under Reporter node of Provisioning.

  The Locale.xml file has been enhanced and moved to the <CN Dir>/extweb/reporter/locale folder. For instruction on how to configure the Locale.xml file, see the Genesys Voice Platfrom 7.6 Deployment Guide.

When installing Reporter on the Element Management Provisioning Server (EMPS), it no longer updates the PATH environment variable. Previously in this scenario, when the installation of Reporter updated the PATH environment variable, and upon starting WatchDog, the LDAP database corrupted. (ER# 207131700)

When using an Oracle DBMS, the Call Details report now displays the correct order of the latest calls. (ER# 212169903)

In the Hourly Peaks Report, the column heading Peak Occurred at is now suffixed with (GMT) to indicate that the column is represented in GMT. (ER#s 176725671, 159473310)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between Release 7.5 or earlier releases and the initial 7.6 release:

On Solaris hosts, the locale.xml file is now updated with all UTF-8 locales. Previously, the date format for historical reports on Solaris was changed only for locales that returned day of month as the first entity of the preferred date format. Whenever this was not returned, MM/DD/YYYY format was assumed. (ER# 107173432)

In EMPS, you can now enter a value of up to 30 characters in the Toll Free Number field, which can be accommodated in EventC. Previously, an EventsValidator error would occur if the Toll Free Number value was greater than 15 characters, and no billing or reporting data was processed. (ER# 84125618)
