Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 7.6 releases of Genesys Voice Platform (GVP) Third-Party Apache Solaris.

Known Issues and Recommendations

The section "Prerequisites to Starting/Restarting GVP (Solaris)" on page 275 of the Genesys Voice Platform 7.6 Deployment Guide lacks this important soft link creation procedure:

  1. Under ORACLE_HOME, locate the file libclntsh.so.10.1 and create a soft link to the file named libclntsh.so.9.0.
  2. Go into the directory that contains Oracle library files—usually ORACLE_HOME/lib.
  3. Execute this command:
    ln -s libclntsh.so.10.1 libclntsh.so.9.0
  4. Verify the soft link by executing ls -lrt.

You must execute this procedure prior to attempting an Apache start/restart; without the soft link that it creates, Apache will not start on a computer running Solaris 10 and an Oracle 10g database. (ER# 124866496)

Errors are displayed when uninstalling Third-Party Apache Solaris; however, the uninstallation succeeds. These errors can be ignored. (ER# 39232408)
