The Genesys Communication Driver no longer sends an incorrect port number to the Genesys Communication Server when it is unable to open a listening port. Previously, if the Communication Driver was unable to open a listening port, it sent an incorrect port number to the Communication Server, which then failed when trying to connect. (GPSBL-4613)

The Communication Server has been updated so that it does not use the communication thread for additional, time-consuming, operations. Previously, its use of the communication thread for additional operations could lead to communication troubles. (ER# 245171973)


With this release, if an outgoing connection from Communication Driver to Communication Server is dropped, only sessions that use this connection are cleaned, and they are restored with the restoration of this connection. Previously, if one of these outgoing connections was dropped, all sessions in the ISCDriverInstance were cleaned (the toolbar was greyed out), and sessions were restored only when one of the outgoing connections was restored. Attention: If you upgrade your Gplus Communication Server for Siebel CRM component to version 7.5.000.27, you must also upgrade your Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Voice Component component to version 7.5.000.27.


Due to an issue with Genesys Configuration Server Proxy 7.1, the Adapter was returning the following error message, Cannot connect to Configuration Server. To fix this issue, upgrade to Configuration Server Proxy 7.2 or Configuration Server Proxy 7.5. (ER# 221283606)


Previously on AIX, the Adapter did not work properly. Most notably, the GenCommServer component stopped responding during the reconnection between the GenCommDrv and GenCommServer components. This problem was caused by an AIX compiler issue, and resulted in an optimization option being excluded. This problem is fixed. (ER# 194896293)


Previously, the Adapter reported the RUNNING state to the Local Control Agent (LCA) before a listening port was available. This problem is fixed. (ER# 217665588)


Previously, invalid configuration-parameter option values could be applied to GenCommServer and GenCommDrv objects. This problem is fixed. (See, the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Deployment Guide for details.) (ER# 218201901)

The Gplus Communication Server incorrectly handled the MaxClientConnections option. This created performance issues when multiple instances of the Gplus Communication driver module were used with a single Gplus Communication Server (for example, multiple profiles pointing to the same Gplus Communication Server). This problem is fixed. (ER# 165122157)


Multiple instances of the Gplus Communication driver on the same host attempted to use the same log file. As a result, only the first instance of the driver was able to create a log file. The rest of the instances did not have logging capabilities at all. This problem is fixed. (ER# 165570433)


The Gplus Communication driver did not detect a failure to open a port for listening. This prevented the Adapter from working when there are multiple instances of the Gplus Communication driver on the same host. This problem is fixed. (ER# 164685401)

Known Issues and Recommendations

Genesys Communication Driver can stop functioning if no Genesys Communication Server is running when an agent configured to use it is trying to log in to Siebel. To avoid this known issue, ensure that Genesys Communication Servers used by agents are running before agents attempt to log in. (ER# 246579216)

Due to an issue with Genesys Configuration Server Proxy 7.1., the Adapter returns the following error message, Cannot connect to Configuration Server. To avoid this issue, use Configuration Server Proxy 7.2 or Configuration Server Proxy 7.5. (ER# 221283606)

Release 7.5.000.20 of Gplus Communication Server for Siebel CRM will not work correctly with versions of Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Voice Component or Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Multimedia Component earlier than 7.5.000.20.

Sensitive user data may appear in the debug level log messages even when log filtering is enabled.

Workaround: Use a log level greater than debug (trace, interaction or standard). If debug level is required for troubleshooting purposes, it is then necessary to visually ensure that the log does not contain any user sensitive data. (ER# 143499051)

The Gplus Communication Server does not detect any changes in the connection configuration when the server is running. If any connections are added, removed, or changed for the Gplus Communication Server application in Configuration Manager, the Gplus Communication Server needs to be restarted in order to make these changes active.
