Introduction

This release note applies to all 7.2 releases of the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Configuration Synchronization Component. Information will be added to this release note as subsequent versions of the component are released. To help you identify the specific differences in releases, the release note includes new features and corrections and modifications for each release. Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. A table in the Contents section lists at a high level the supported operating systems for each release. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Systems and Databases Reference Manual.

The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list with the most recent items at the top of the list. This list includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.

The Discontinued Support section is also a cumulative list with the most recent items at the top of the list. This list includes functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents section, above.

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 7.2 release of the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Configuration Synchronization Component.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between release 7.1 or earlier releases and the initial 7.2 release:

When expanded mapping of skill names was conducted (by setting UseSeparatorsForSkillName = TRUE and SkipSkillItemTypeName = FALSE), the skills that were exported from Siebel were created in the Genesys platform with long names. These skills contained all of the Siebel skill attributes, including those that were empty. This problem has been fixed. (ER #27874001)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

There are known issues with a localized Siebel environment. See the Internationalization section, below.

If Gplus Multimedia component is deployed and Gplus Voice component is not deployed, configure the following to start the Gplus Configuration Synchronization component exporting and synchronizing the Agent's data required by the Gplus Multimedia component:

  1. The Agent, which has to be exported from Siebel to Genesys for use with Gplus Multimedia component, has to have two communications configurations in Siebel: primary and secondary.
  2. Base the primary communications configuration on the Gplus_OpenMedia driver.
  3. Base the secondary communications configuration on the Gplus_Voice driver with Channel String = Gplus CTI Driver so that the Configuration Synchronization component can export / synchronize the Agent's data from Siebel to Genesys. The Gplus_Voice driver's parameters Driver:ServerHost and Driver:ServerPort should not have any value because only the Person and Place objects need to be exported from Siebel and created in Genesys CME for the Gplus Multimedia component to work. Note that the Gplus_Voice driver is created in Siebel when the Gencomm7_universal.def file is imported.

The primary communications configuration is used for Multimedia, and the secondary communications configurations used for export / synchronization. (ER# 66553261)

Internationalization

Information in this section is included for international customers.

In a Siebel Server without an American English (ENU) language pack, the "The value entered in field Action Type of buscomp Personalization Action does not match any value in the bounded pick list PickList CT Action type.(SBL-DAT-00225)" error may occur when installing the Adapterís runtime events (the InstallRunTimeEvents method of the Genesys Configuration Synchronization Siebel Business Service).

Workaround: Manually add the ENU values of the CT_ACTION_TYPE List of Values, as follows:

  1. Navigate the Siebel Web Client to Administration-Data->List of Values.
  2. Run a query using Type = CT_ACTION_TYPE. The results of this query may contain records for various languages.
  3. Select a language. Duplicate each row and set the ENU values in the Display Value column of the duplicated records. The Display Value column should be equal to the corresponding value of the Language-Independent Code column. The value for the Language Name column should be English-American.

A similar error may occur for CT_EVENT_OBJ_TYPE. If so, perform the series of steps above a second time, this time substituting CT_EVENT_OBJ_TYPE in place of CT_ACTION_TYPE.

Please note that some applets may display these duplicated English values along with localized values.

(ER# 139545671)

The Adapter does not export DNs and Agent Logins in a Siebel Server without an American English (ENU) language pack.

Workaround: Add an ENU record with a COMM_MEDIA_TYPE type and a Voice value to the list of values (LOV) as follows:

  1. Navigate the Siebel Web Client to Administration-Data->List of Values.
  2. Run a query using Type = COMM_MEDIA_TYPE.
  3. Duplicate the Language-Independent Code = Voice row.
  4. In the new row, make sure that Display Value=Voice and Language Name = English-American. The ENU value Voice should be used as a channel type of voice driver.
