Release Number 7.2.000.17 [07/07/09] – Hot Fix

Supported Operating Systems
New in This Release
Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents section, above.

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain any new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction or modification:

The Adapter has been updated to accommodate SQL statements dealing with campaign tables that are considered "wide" (having more than 40 columns). Note that in addition to fixing the earlier problem, the update to the Adapter also allows you to run SQL statements that exceed 4 KB. Previously, even when the 4 KB limit to the length of a SQL statement related to campaign tables had not been exceeded, in cases where there were more than 40 columns for the table, the SQL execution might fail on the database end. (ER# 228833751)

For Oracle databases only: Indexes for temporary tables have been added to improve SQL execution. Previously, if you tried to update a large existing campaign, for example, one with 500,000 records, the Pull Campaign Synch Data request executed slowly. This was due to its performing full-table scan requests for non-indexed temporary tables.
Note: It is mandatory that you tune the hash_area_size parameter for your database to ensure better performance (a particular value needs to be defined by your database administrator based on local tests). (ER# 229660959)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

Previously if you were loading a large campaign (for example, 500000 records), the Pull Campaign Synch Data request execution was slow. This problem has been fixed. Now when you are loading large campaigns, execution will be significantly faster. On the Genesys Quality-Assurance test environment, it became eight (8) to fourteen (14) times faster. For example:

(ER# 218914311)

Previously, if you were deleting obsolete contacts from a campaign list, the Pull Campaign Synch Data request execution was slow. This problem has been fixed. Now, deleting obsolete contacts from a campaign list may be (n) times faster where (n) represents the total number of rows in the campaign-list table. (ER# 221668328)

Release Number 7.2.000.06 [09/22/06] – General

Supported Operating Systems
New in This Release
Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents section, above.

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 7.2 release of the Gplus Adapter for Siebel CRM Campaign Synchronization Component.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between release 7.1 or earlier releases and the initial 7.2 release:

Previously, in Compatibility Campaign Mapping mode, if a Siebel campaign hierarchy was exported to Genesys, a child campaign was then detached from the hierarchy by clearing the value of the parent field. The parent campaign object in the Genesys environment still kept the campaign list links of this child campaign, and the links had to be removed manually. Now, this problem has been fixed, and it is no longer necessary to manually remove these links in the campaign configuration object by using the Genesys Configuration Manager. (ER# #27588411)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

If you are loading large campaigns (for example, 500000 records), the Pull Campaign Synch Data request execution is slow. (ER# 218914311)

Found In: 7.2.000.10 Fixed In: 7.2.000.15

If you are deleting obsolete contacts from a campaign list, the Pull Campaign Synch Data request execution is slow. (ER# 221668328)

Found In: 7.2.000.10 Fixed In: 7.2.000.15

Given the following scenario, Campaign Synchronization duplicates data in the database:

  1. Create a campaign in Siebel with a number of contacts (for example, 100 records).
  2. Run the campaign synchronization.
  3. Break the campaign synchronization process.
  4. Update the campaign in Siebel.
  5. Run the campaign synchronization.
  6. When the synchronization completes successfully, check the OCM.
The initial 100 record (created in step 1) are duplicated - resulting in 200 records in the database. (ER# 224813311)

Found In: 7.2.000.14 Fixed In: 7.2.000.15

The Adapter and the DB Server do not support the ADDP. (ER# 214618404)

Found In: 7.2.000.10 Fixed In: 7.2.000.12

The Adapter repeatedly loads the same campaign when the Pull Campaign Synch Data connection closes during a data transfer from Siebel. (ER# 214618495)

Found In: 7.2.000.10 Fixed In: 7.2.000.12

Found In: 7.2.000.06 Fixed In: 7.2.000.08

The Adapter terminates unexpectedly if the call result in the Outbound Contact Server (OCS) database had an incorrect value, for example -1. (ER# 177023761)

Found In: 7.2.000.06 Fixed In: 7.2.000.07

Internationalization

Information in this section is included for international customers.

In a Siebel Server without an American English (ENU) language pack, the error "The value entered in field Action Type of buscomp Personalization Action does not match any value in the bounded pick list PickList CT Action type.(SBL-DAT-00225)" may occur when installing the Adapterís runtime events (the InstallRunTimeEvents method of the Genesys Configuration Synchronization Siebel Business Service).

Workaround: Add the ENU values of the CT_ACTION_TYPE List of Values, as follows:

  1. Navigate the Siebel Web Client to Administration-Data->List of Values.
  2. Run a query using Type = CT_ACTION_TYPE. The results of this query may contain records for various languages.
  3. Select a language. Duplicate each row and set the ENU values in the Display Value column of the duplicated records. The Display Value column should be equal to the corresponding value of the Language-Independent Code column. The value for the Language Name column should be English-American.

A similar error may occur for CT_EVENT_OBJ_TYPE. If so, perform the series of steps above a second time, this time substituting CT_EVENT_OBJ_TYPE in place of CT_ACTION_TYPE.

A similar error may also occur for CT_ACTION_SET_OP. If so, perform the series of steps above a third time, this time substituting CT_ACTION_SET_OP in place of CT_ACTION_TYPE.

Please note that some applets may display these duplicated English values along with localized values.
