New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

If one of the primary Reporting Servers is down in a multiple Reporting Server configuration, the component dashboard now returns the correct data. Previously, incorrect data was displayed. (ER# 260145875)

The rate at which Genesys Administrator loads Dashboard data is improved. Previously in some environments, it could take up to a minute or more to display the main Dashboard, located under the Monitoring tab. The same operation can now be completed up to 10 times faster when working in a comparable environment. (ER# 259510798)

Genesys Administrator no longer displays the error message Log loading failed: 403. Exception occurred during channel opening when you open a Dashboard for the first time, and Log DB Server and Log Database are online. Previously, this message was sometimes displayed for no apparent reason; log loading completed successfully after you clicked OK to close the message box, and manually refreshed the Dashboard content. (ER# 259510755)

Genesys Administrator now displays log messages with the correct timestamp when running on a machine with non-English locale settings. Previously in this scenario, and when using the Oracle Database Management System (DBMS), the logs were displayed with the same timestamp. (ER# 259288511)

Genesys Administrator now displays a progress indicator when loading the data for the VAR IVR Last Action report. Previously, progress was indicated only by the Generate Report button remaining greyed out while the report was loading. (ER# 258978836)

Genesys Administrator now displays the components of a Solution in the correct order of their startup priority. Previously, the components were displayed in the alphanumeric order of their startup priority (for example, 1, 10, 2, 3, ..., instead of 1, 2, 3, ..., 9, 10, ...). (ER# 258556728)

Genesys Administrator now reports times correctly adjusted for Daylight Savings Time in hourly call reports. (ER# 254808308)

Genesys Administrator now operates normally after a user requests to view an Active Call Browser report containing no active calls (based on the report filters specified) when Genesys Administrator is configured to connect to a Reporting Server that has a backup Reporting Server specified in its configuration. Previously in this scenario, Genesys Administrator would react to subsequent actions after delays of a minute or more, or stop responding altogether. (ER# 259857145)

Corrections and Modifications

Genesys Administrator no longer stops responding when loading a resource assignment for a Resource Group. (ER# 246721057)

Genesys Administrator now takes the local time zone into account when saving and displaying Start Time for Campaign Sequences, and Stop at Time for Campaigns in Campaign Sequences. In other words, the time that is entered in each of these fields is adjusted for time zone differences when viewed by a user in another time zone. Previously, the times were displayed without being converted to the local time zone. (ER# 247847531, 247847536)

If redundant Log DB Servers are configured, Genesys Administrator now connects successfully to the backup Log DB Server after a DB Server switchover. Previously, Genesys Administrator was unable to connect, and the following error message was displayed: Server indicated error: 403. Exception occurred during channel opening. (ER# 248270423)

VAR Call Completion and VAR Last IVR Action reports now show the correct Tenant name, selected when creating the reports. Previously, the Tenant name field of the report was not updated. (ER# 248385031)

In Voice Platform Summary reports, the navigation button now stays visible in the interface if the next range or previous range selections return no results. Previously in this scenario, the navigation control disappeared and the user had to manually enter the ranges. (ER# 248780013)

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Genesys Administrator.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

In a multi-tenant environment, the IVR Profile Wizard creates IVR Profiles in the specified tenant. Previously, Genesys Voice Platform releases 8.1.1 and earlier did not support multi-tenancy so that in a multi-tenant environment, the IVR Profile Wizard created IVR Profiles for the Environment tenant only. (ER# 207909781, 240749943)

The legend box in Voice Platform report charts can no longer be dragged out of the chart area. Previously, it could be dragged out of the chart area, at which point it disappeared and could not be recovered. (ER# 214045637, 234058437)

For the Outbound solution, time values displayed in Genesys Administrator are now always converted to the local time of the client. Previously, for the Outbound Contact Solution, it only displayed the time zone in which each time was given, and the user had to convert the times to their local times. (ER# 239674051)

Genesys Administrator now displays dates in Voice Platform reports in a consistent format, regardless of the locale of the system on which it is installed. Previously, the dates sometimes alternated between the MM/DD/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY formats when Genesys Administrator was installed on a system that was not using an English locale. (ER# 240053401)

When using the Append New (no chain merge) option to import or export records to or from a Calling List, Genesys Administrator no longer loses records if the destination list is not empty. (ER# 240481361)

You can now view and update Record Prioritization options at Operations > Dialing Sessions > Priorities if an Outbound Contact Manager (OCM) object is not configured. Previously, you had to create a temporary OCM object and define Record Prioritization options for the Dialing Sessions. For more information about these options, see the section "OCManager Section – Options for Record Prioritization" in the Outbound Contact 8.0 Deployment Guide. (ER# 240576055)

You can now use Genesys Administrator to configure Resource Manager in high availability (HA) mode. Previously, two Resource Managers could not be associated with the same set of resources. (ER# 240684398)

You can now create custom Time Zones correctly in Genesys Administrator. In previous releases, custom Time Zones could be created, but not without errors. (ER# 242475683)

When creating Media Control Platform groups in the Resource Groups Wizard, the default Monitoring Method is SIP Options. (ER# 244664534)

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Genesys Administrator.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

If an operation that you have requested times out for some reason, such as network problems or server termination, the progress bar no longer remains visible. Previously in this scenario, you had to use the Refresh button in your browser to remove the progress bar from the display. (ER# 176142804)

After a switchover, Genesys Administrator now reconnects automatically to the backup Configuration Server and the backup Solution Control Server. (ER# 181634165)

Configuration Units are represented in Genesys Administrator by Business Units. See Business Units and Sites in the New in This Release section. (ER# 182868706)

You can now use Genesys Administrator to edit fields containing binary values. (ER# 212728871)

If an IVR Profile is directly edited without using the IVR Profile Wizard and if some of its options have invalid values, then loading the profile in the IVR Profile Wizard no longer results in a temporary layout problem. Previously, there was a temporary layout problem for those fields that were marked as invalid, which was fixed only when these fields were set to valid values. (ER# 215155045)

You can now edit permissions and options for predefined objects in Genesys Administrator. (ER# 216713102)

When using Genesys Administrator in Internet Explorer, the IVR Profile Wizard now operates correctly in the following scenario:

  1. Leave a mandatory field blank.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Immediately click on the field that was left blank.

Previously, the Wizard sometimes stopped responding.

(ER# 218745525)

When defining Dialed Number Mappings, Genesys Administrator now displays an error message when a user tries to add a new, or edit an existing, DN range that is the same as, or conflicts with, another DN range. The error message contains details about the invalid range, and does not allow the user to save it.

Previously in this scenario, the minimum value field was always marked as invalid, even though the conflict may have been because of the maximum value or any of the intermediate values.

(ER# 218861509)

When you move a folder in Genesys Administrator, the moved folder is now visible in its new location immediately. Previously, it was not visible in its new location until you refreshed the display. (ER# 218893303)

The name of an Application Template can now contain an apostrophe ('). Previously, if you created an Application using an Application Template with an apostrophe in its name, the list of Applications was not displayed in Genesys Administrator. If you tried to switch to another object, the software would freeze. (ER# 219137681)

You can now use the Deployment Wizard in Genesys Administrator to deploy an Installation Package to a Host running the Windows Server 2008 operating system. (ER# 232311887)
