Introduction

This release note applies to all 8.1 releases of Genesys Co-browse Server.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Use of Third-Party Software

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize third-party functionality. For additional information about third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me. Please contact your Genesys Customer Care representative if you have any questions.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following correction:

When a Co-browse session is in progress, the browser modal dialogs window.confirm() and window.prompt() now return the correct value. Previously, they did not return a value. (CB-2779)

• Advanced browser side caching and gzipping of static resources.
• ZAP proxy-based on-the-fly test instrumentation and security testing.
• IPv6 support with Genesys servers.
• Access control to Co-browse Server based on the Origin header (CORS).
• Ability to customize chat templates.
• Ability to configure an HTTP forward proxy on the path from Co-browse Server to the internet.

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.1 release of Genesys Co-browse Server.

• Ability for the customer and agent to jointly co-browse web pages and jointly fill out web forms without downloading any third party components to their computer.
• Data masking, precise control of DOM actions, multi-lingual support and Write mode (simultaneous edits).
• Compatible with all leading browsers (Internet Explorer 9+, Firefox 17+, Safari 6+, Chrome 5+).
• Seamless integration with Interaction Workspace.
• Support for HTTP, HTTPS, cookies, web pages with external MIME types, and end-to-end SSL encryption.
• Support for load balancing of Co-browse Servers.
• Support for interaction-based reporting, activity-based reporting, and real-time reporting.

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

When a Co-browse session is in progress, the browser modal dialogs window.confirm() and window.prompt() never return a value. (CB-2779)

The Paros proxy included in Genesys Co-browse cannot work properly if the full path to its location contains spaces.

Workaround: Specify the full path to the Co-browse Server application without spaces during the installation process.

Note: Genesys recommends that you use the new Zap proxy instead of the Paros proxy.

TLS does not work on connections with Chat Servers that are included in the Application Cluster application object.

Workaround: Co-browse Server must have all Chat Server applications in its connections list.

The scrolling position for block HTML elements with their own scrollbars is not synchronized when co-browsing. (CB-339)

Auto-complete suggestions that appear in sub-menus might not be displayed correctly in the agent view. (CB-1351)
