In some international languages that use the non-Latin character set, all
characters in an object's options are now exported as originally input.
Previously in this scenario, some non-Latin characters were converted to
question marks (?). (GAX-8045 [GAX-7678])
GAX now allows a user without WRITE permission for Personalities to delete
Audio Resources if the user has WRITE permission for Audio Resources. Previously,
any user without WRITE permission for Personalities was unable to delete Audio
Resources, and Access Denied was written to the GAX logs.

Local Control Agent (LCA) now properly initializes only one GAX instance after GAX is installed in certain Linux environments. Previously in this scenario, LCA might initialize multiple GAX instances. (GAX-7411)
GAX now disables SSLv3 by default due to security concerns regarding the POODLE vulnerability. If you want to enable SSLv3, you must add the
following to the gax.properties file: SSLv3=true. (GAX-7361)
GAX no longer modifies the Wrap-up Time value if you change a Skill for an Agent while using the User Accounts panel. Previously in this
scenario, GAX changed the Wrap-up Time value to 0. (GAX-7293)

GAX now properly updates Agent Groups, Access Groups, and Roles if the logged-in user does not have Read permissions for some of the
group members. Previously in this scenario, those group members for whom the user did not have Read permissions and which were therefore

GAX now assigns sufficient default access permissions to users that are created in Configuration Manager. Previously, users that were created in Configuration Manager were not assigned sufficient default permissions, which caused issues when displaying and updating these users. (GAX-6306)
The magnifying glass button (which launches an object-picker window for lists, such as Members for Access Groups), is now disabled until
all objects in the list are populated. Previously, if a user clicked the magnifying glass button before the list was fully populated, some items were
missing in the object-picker window. (GAX-6300)

When a user modifies a Role object in the Accounts > Roles panel, Genesys Administrator Extension now retains
privileges that it did not originally create (for example, role privileges that were created by Genesys Administrator or a solution definition).
Previously, due to a known issue in which these privileges might not be viewable in the Roles panel, modifying a role might cause these
privileges to be removed from the Role object. (GAX-5545, GAX-5485)

When creating a new Parameter, Internet Explorer 8 users can now select an item in the Parameter Type drop-down list and GAX will

GAX now successfully synchronizes Parameter Groups in which a Parameter Key Name value has changed from the original value in the
Parameter Group Template. Previously, if a user changed the Parameter Key Name value, all deployed Parameter Groups that contained

GAX can now properly split a log file if it exceeds the maximum size defined in the GAX Application object. Previously, if the log file
exceeded the maximum size, GAX continued to write to the original log file and inserted an extra log header and GAX version number in each line.

A new attribute, sockettimeout, is available for the os:execShellCmd command that is part of SPD authoring. This attribute
defines the time period (in milliseconds) that GAX waits for a command to complete on a selected host (this command is specified in the cmd
attribute). If this command execution is longer than the sockettimeout value, the os:execShellCmd process fails. If no value
is specified for sockettimeout, the value defaults to 600000 (10 minutes). (GAX-7053, GAX-6618)

Browser sessions are now immediately invalidated for user accounts that are disabled or deleted. The browser redirects affected users to the login screen upon the next HTTP request. (GAX-1989, GAX-1990)
Users can no longer delete a parameter if it is used in a deployed parameter group, even if the parameter is no longer part of the parameter group template. Previously, users could delete the parameter in this scenario, which might cause data corruption. (GAX-1714)
Users can now modify and save parameter groups with a global parameter of configuration object type. Previously, if there was a global
parameter of configuration object type in a parameter group, the Saving failed. Validation Error. error displayed. (GAX-3961)
Previously, when Genesys Administrator was accessed from the Genesys Administator link in GAX and the configured protocol and port
was https and 80, the link did not function correctly. Now the redirect works as expected under this scenario. In addition, it is
recommended that in an https setup, the ga.timeout option should be set to a larger number (for example, 10), so that GAX has enough
time to get a confirmation response from Genesys Administrator during initial login. (GAX-3993)

The log file written by GAX now includes a timestamp, which is automatically appended to the file name defined in the log section of the GAX Application object. Previously, the omission of a timestamp could sometimes result in duplicated data in the log. (ER# 303198924)
License Utilization Reporting can now export reports when multiple customer names and records are present in the License Reporting Manager data source. The customer name presented in the exported report is derived by selecting the most recently issued entitlement record that is valid for the date the report is generated. If no match can be found, entitlement_expired is displayed instead of a customer name. (ER# 302954526)
On startup, GAX now requires connections to DAPs only for those plugins that are installed or, in the case of Auditing, enabled. If you choose not to use Auditing, you must set the auditing option in the GAX Application object to false. (ER# 301592781)
The demotest.xml file has been updated to support both Windows and Linux OSs. The OS type is dynamically determined by the script based on the Host object selected during deployment. Previously, the demotest.xml file contained Linux-specific sections. (ER# 301442389)

Log options for the GAX application object can now be configured using special characters such as :, /, \, and " " so that file paths can be specified. (ER# 300553669)
GAX now produces improved error messages when attempting to connect to a Genesys Deployment Agent (GDA) installation that is non-standard. These improved messages enable you to troubleshoot and correct your GDA installation. GAX uses the GDA port as configured in the Configuration environment. The Host object for the machine on which GDA is installed has the GDA port set in the port option in the [rdm] section of the Host object's Annex tab (for example, rdm/port=5000). If the port is not configured in the Host object, GAX uses the default port, 5000, which is also the default installation port for GDA v.8.1.100.05 and higher. This description of GAX functionality supersedes that documented for ER# 299589238 in GAX v8.1.201.41. (ER# 300280216 )
The number of concurrent sessions supported by GAX is constrained by the Java heap size configured in Tomcat�s startup properties. The number of possible concurrent sessions can be roughly calculated by (heap_size) / (4_MB). (ER# 300103863)
The Deployed Solutions list view and Deployment Log Details for a specific deployment now contain both the date and time of the deployment. (ER# 298671056)

GAX now produces improved error messages attempting to connect to a Genesys Deployment Agent (GDA) installation that is non-standard. These improved messages enable you to troubleshoot and correct your GDA installation. GAX uses the GDA port as configured in the Configuration environment. The Management Framework Host object for the machine on which GDA is installed has the GDA port set in the port option in the rdm section of the Host's Annex tab (for example, rdm/port=4998). If the port is not configured in the Management Framework Host object, GAX uses the default port, 4998, which is also the default installation port for GDA v.8.1.1. (ER# 299589238)
A vulnerability to Cross Site Scripting (XSS) when using Firefox 3.6.x has been eliminated. (ER# 299086527)
The file name of an ASD upgrade script has been renamed to properly reflect the schema version. The correct file name is now gax_asd_upgrade_db_8.1.101.14_to_8.1.201.15_ora.sql. (ER# 298842829)
Deployments that are in progress now display an end date of N/A rather than NaN-NaN-NaN (the term NaN indicating Not a Number). (ER# 298740901)
When redeploying a solution, passwords are now correctly shown as blanks rather than with asterisks. For security reasons passwords are not stored and must be re-entered when redeploying. (ER# 298657473)

If no localization preferences are set for a user, the date, time, and numbers are now displayed correctly in the appropriate columns of the LUR reports. Previously, if no localization preferences were set for a user, some columns in the LUR reports were not displayed correctly. (ER# 298928513)
License Reporting Manager (LRM) expects a string value for provision counts. GAX sends a string value which can be interpreted as valid Integer. GAX tests the values that are input for LRM provision counts to ensure that they are legal integer values, and then converts the integer to a string to be sent to LRM. GAX stores all provision counts as string values in Configuration Server. (ER# 298789231)
GAX now correctly updates and sets the configuration options that are specified in the application template when the IPs are installed. Parameters in the Annex are also correctly updated and set. Previously, some application options were missing when GAX deployed IPs. (ER# 298741254, 299017446)
GAX now ignores unexpected directories in the structure of files for IP deployment of Stat Server and eServices Solution. If unexpected directories are encountered, GAX creates a debug message in the deployment log. Previously, if Genesys Administrator created directories for templates in the IP source directory, GAX displayed an exception when it tried to transfer an IP to a remote machine. LUR tenant reports can now be sorted by column. This function did not work in previous releases. (ER# 298648751)
A commit; statement has been added to GAX SQL initialization and upgrade scripts for Oracle databases; this does not apply to the scripts for Microsoft SQL databases. Previously, if you were installing GAX for the first time or upgrading from release 8.1.x to 8.1.2, when the SQL upgrade scripts were executed and your client application had auto-commit switched off, database changes might not have been committed. The Add button in the LUR Provisioned Counts panel is displayed only to users that have the following privilege set: LRM_PROV_MGMT (Manage tenant provisioned count). As well, the LUR provisioned counts are available only for those users. Previously, there was an error in the treatment of the privilege for managing provisioned counts which resulted in the incorrect display of the Add button; also, the management of provision counts was usable only for the default user. You can now also add Associated Applications to a Parameter Group Template that is in use. Previously, you could add Associated Applications to a Parameter Group Template that was not in use only. (ER# 298264889)

The upgrade procedure in the Framework 8.1 Genesys Administrator Extension Deployment Guide does not specify the location of the previous versions of the upgrade scripts. You must run all of the upgrade scripts, in order, from earliest to most recent when you are upgrading GAX from 8.1.x to 8.1.2. Refer to the detailed upgrade procedures in the Framework 8.1 Genesys Administrator Extension Release Advisory. (ER# 298228803)

If you are upgrading from GAX 8.1.x to GAX 8.1.2, you must first upgrade Configuration Server to 8.1.1. If you do not upgrade Configuration Server, you will get an error message. Genesys recommends that you follow the detailed upgrade procedure that is included in the Framework 8.1 Genesys Administrator Extension Release Advisory to avoid error messages about Configuration Server during your upgrade operation. 8.1.4 Language Packs are supported only by 8.1.4 releases of Genesys Administrator Extension, starting with release 8.1.400.38. They are not supported by 8.1.3 and earlier releases of Genesys Administrator Extension.
Localization of Genesys Administrator Extension 8.1.4 for the Korean market is not currently planned. The 8.1.3 Language Pack should be used instead.
Language Packs for 8.1.3 releases of Genesys Administrator Extension can be used with 8.1.4 releases. However, new features of the 8.1.4 release, such as Configuration Manager and Setup Mode, have not been translated and will only display in English.
8.1.3 Language Packs are supported by only 8.1.3 and 8.1.4 releases of Genesys Administrator Extension, starting with release 8.1.310.29. They are not supported by 8.1.2 and earlier releases of Genesys Administrator Extension.
