Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesys.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 7.6 releases of Genesys Integration Server (GIS) Proxy Libraries.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

For the Java Proxy, if you create multiple subscribers, releasing the factory by calling the ServiceFactory.releaseFactory() method no longer throws a ConcurrentModificationException. (ISDK-5976)

GIS .NET Proxy now creates a dedicated socket pool for the event channel (in pull mode, the EventService.getEvents() method) to avoid mixing with commands. You can now set the maximum number of active sockets at a time (see Microsoft ServicePoint class for more details): context["service-point.connectionLimit"] = 5; Previously, GIS .NET proxy could handle two concurrent connections with GIS Server by default; in case of numerous HTTP requests, mix up between polling channel and command channel could occur and result in some delay equal to the timeout set for the polling channel. (ISDK-5971)

• The .NET proxy now includes the errors option to handle errors and manage the switch node mechanism:
  • auto (default mode if the option is not set): Standard error management behavior. The proxy tries to recover by switching nodes.
  • manual: No switch-over. All errors are sent to the client application.
  • partial: Partial switch-over management. The proxy handles the switch-over for the following major errors: certificate validation, secure channel, and non secure channel connection failure (connection refused or timed out). The unknown sessionId error does not trigger a node change and is sent to the client application. Timeout, send, and receive failures are sent to the client application for custom handling (ignore, retry, node changed, and so on). Any other errors are processed through the standard retry mechanism.
  The following code snippet shows how you can implement this mode:

• The GIS Java proxies now supports Red Hat 6.0 32-bits or 64-bits.
• The GIS Java and .NET proxies now supports Windows 8 32-bits or 64-bits.
• The GIS Java proxy now requires the installation of Java 7 runtime; former Java versions are no longer supported.
• The .NET Proxy is compiled in C# 2.0 for GIS 7.6.6 versions. You should recompile your code using the new libraries, although no code change is required.

This release includes the following corrections and modifications:

The String[] InteractionSearchTemplate.getRetrieveAttributes() method now returns the list of default attributes available for retrieving history information. You may use these attributes "as is" as part of the search request. (ISDK-5519)

The BackupUrls parameter is now correctly working in Java. (ISDK-5708)

The init/release cycle no longer causes a resource leak. Previously, whenever the init/release cycles occurred frequently and the application was not shut down, four of the threads that were created during the ServiceFactroy.init procedure were not released by the ServiceFactroy.release procedure. • The Interaction SDK installation packages now include a click-wrap agreement that appears when the IP prompts the installer to agree to the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) terms. The addition of this click-wrap agreement is expected to save time and money for Genesys SDK customers and partners who formerly had to process developer contracts through their legal departments.

• The Interaction SDK 7.6.2 components are now officially supported with Framework 8.0.

  Note: The Interaction SDK 7.6.2 does not support new features of 8.0.

• The Interaction SDK now supports integrations running on Microsoft Vista Client.

GIS:GSAP now sends correctly formed keepalive packets. Previously, network traffic was slowed by packets that consisted of 13 TCP messages of 1-byte data. (ER# 172186078)

GIS Proxy Libraries can now handle several consultation calls for the same primary call. New methods have been added to InteractionVoiceService that accept the primary and the chosen consultation call ID values as parameters. These new methods include:

• alternateCallEx(String interactionId, String otherInteractionId, KeyValue[] reasons, KeyValue[] tExtensions)
• completeTransferEx(String interactionId, String otherInteractionId, KeyValue[] reasons, KeyValue[] tExtensions)
• completeConferenceEx(String interactionId, String otherInteractionId, KeyValue[] reasons, KeyValue[] tExtensions)

GIS now includes the attribute dn.user-data:TConnectionId in the DnUserEvent. The dn.user-data:TConnectionId attribute, along with the dn:TEventExtensions, completes the Logical Call Topology (LCT) data values sent by SIP Server. (ER# 211041697)

If you use push mode for event delivery, use the EventService.setNotification() method to set the notification endpoint. Previously, this method resulted in some callback processing not receiving events (so it was necessary to use the EventService.createSubscriber() to set the endpoint). (ER# 52269248)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

The Load Balancing feature will not function if the GSAP.log4net.xml file is missing. (ER# 193472331)

When using GIS:SOAP, the OpenMedia 7.6 client will disconnect after a GIS session timeout (see sessionTimeout in the GIS configuration options). The GIS session times out regardless of the client activity. To avoid this, either:

• Use an OpenMedia 7.5 GIS Proxies, when using a client that is based on GIS Proxies.
• Call the browseServices() method (see SessionService) at regular intervals, when using a proxy based on another WebServices toolkit.

When using GIS High Availability in a Load Balanced cluster (with a front end Apache 2.0 dispatcher), Apache can send some session requests to more than one node at failover. This creates identical sessions in several nodes, which can lead to unpredictable behavior such as duplicate events and session removals. (ER# 115729325)

The .NET Proxy connects to Genesys Integration Server in the 7.6 release, instead of connecting to .NET Server as in the 7.1 release. For information on how to migrate your 7.1 application, built with the Genesys .NET Toolkit for integration with .NET Server, see the Genesys 7 Migration Guide.
