Release Number 8.0.300.09 [06/07/12] – Hot Fix

Supported Operating Systems
New in This Release
Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

The operating systems supported by this release are listed in the Contents, above.

New in This Release

This is a hot fix for this product. This release does not contain new features or functionality.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification:

DB Server now processes stored procedures more efficiently. If a stored procedure contains one or more parameters set to an empty string (""), DB Server passes the parameter value as is (that is, as an empty string). Previously, it passed the parameter value as a string of blank characters, which caused excessive processing overhead. This issue occurred only with MS SQL. (ER# 298796055)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification:

DB Server, when running on the HP-UX platform and connected to an Oracle database, now correctly stops all dbclient_oracle processes if the request timeout expires. Previously, the dbclient_oracle processes would continue running, reaching 100% CPU utilization. (ER# 287182359)

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following correction and modification:

DB Server now correctly handles the situation when one or more dbclient processes stop. Previously in this situation, DB Server sometimes generated a log containing a significant number of Standard-level log events (00-02024: OS Signal SIGCHLD received), and then terminated. (ER# 235526695)

A DB Server Informix client now correctly executes stored procedures with no parameters. Previously, the stored procedure did not execute, but returned an error instead. (ER# 239750711)

Corrections and Modifications

Supported Operating Systems

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

Stored procedures called by MS SQL database clients now execute properly, regardless of the order of parameters in the procedure call. Previously, stored procedures sometimes failed if the sequence of actual parameters in the procedure call was not the same as the sequence of formal parameters declared in the stored procedure, and if the names of the parameters in the procedure call did not start with the character @. (ER# 195598936)

When operating in autocommit mode, DB Server now properly commits the results of a stored procedure to the database. Previously, on an Oracle DBMS, the transactions were not committed automatically, but included with the subsequent transaction instead. (ER# 183321311)
