Introduction

This release note applies to all 8.0 releases of the Configuration Object Model Application Block for Java. For a list of other Java Platform SDK subcomponents, or to read general notes about this release of the Java Platform SDK, see the Platform SDK & Application Blocks for Java Release Note.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Guide.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

The Configuration Object Model Application Block for Java has been extended to support subsections under 'Options' and 'UserProperties' in Configuration Server Role objects. (ER# 273439053)

The Configuration Object Model Application Block for Java has been corrected to include a timeout feature for operations that involve reading multiple objects. (ER# 273439161)

The Configuration Object Model (COM) Application Block objects now include an additional way to access specific property values using new methods, such as CfgApplication.getTenantDBIDs() and CfgAgentGroup.getAgentDBIDs(), that return a collection of integer values without actually reading the objects. • This component has been updated to accommodate changes in the underlying libraries.

• The partialGet() method has been added to the AsyncRequestResult interface. This non-blocking method allows already received data to be read without waiting for all data to be returned from Configuration Server when retrieving multiple objects.

• This component has been updated to accommodate changes in the underlying libraries.

• The COM Application Block now has the ability to cache COM objects.

• Methods for query execution have been added to simplify retrieving objects from Configuration Server. In order to make a query executable, any new query instance must be initialized via a new constructor that takes an instance of IConfService as a parameter. (ER# 235771701)

• Access is now provided to hierarchical multi-tenancy data layers in Management Framework and Configuration Server. (ER# 237442310)

• With the exposure of role capabilities (including the abilities to add or modify a role, or assign a role to a user), the Configuration Object Model Application Block now supports Role Based Access. (ER# 233200826)

• A new QuickStart application is available for this application block. (ER# 198103261)
