Introduction

This release note applies to all 8.0 releases of Configuration Manager for the French market.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

Use of Third-Party Software

Genesys follows applicable third-party redistribution policies to the extent that Genesys solutions utilize functionality of commercial or non-commercial third parties. For specific information on any third-party software used in this product, see the Read Me.

New in This Release

This is a generally available release for the French market. This localization is based on Configuration Manager 8.0.300.04. Modifications to this software component in later software versions are not supported in this localized version.

You can now log into Configuration Manager only if the application name you provide is that of an Application object of type Configuration Manager. Previously, you could log in using application names of Application objects of other types.

New in This Release

There are no restrictions for this release. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Configuration Manager.

• The ability to perform a permissions-based search has been added to the Find command. This type of search enables you to identify for which objects a User or Access group has permissions.

• When a user logs in to Configuration Manager, the date and time when he or she last logged in can be displayed (if the feature is enabled in Configuration Server). This system security enhancement alerts users to unauthorized access to their system by someone else using a valid user�s account.

• Tool tips have been added to toolbar buttons. When you move your mouse cursor over a button in the toolbar, the purpose of the button appears in a small popup display box.

• You can now configure Role configuration objects in Configuration Manager. These objects are used in Genesys Adminstrator as part of Role-Based Access Control, and are not used in Configuration Manager. Refer to the Framework 8.0 Security Deployment Guide for more information about Role-Based Access Control.

New in This Release

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in this release of Configuration Manager.

• Configuration Manager now supports Hierarchical Multi-Tenant environments, in which each Tenant can be a parent, child, or both. Refer to the Framework 8.0 Deployment Guide for more information about these multi-level environments.

• The Change Password option is not available in the File menu if external authentication is used.

• You can now use Emergency Mode to restrict changes to the Configuration Database. Only members of the Super Administrators access group can set this mode; and once in this mode, only they can make changes to the Configuration Database.

• In an Enterprise environment, the Disable option is no longer available for the Resources folder.

• By selecting an object in the list of search results, you can now open the folder containing that object, or show its dependent objects.

• You can configure more types of configuration objects, as follows:

  • Application types—Advisors, Customer View, ESS Extensible Services, Interaction Workspace, and SMS Server
  • Script types—ESS Dial Plan, Interaction Workflow Trigger, and Outbound Schedule
  • Switch types—Avaya TSAPI and Huawei NGN

• Menu-access keys and keyboard shortcuts are documented in Framework 8.0 Configuration Manager Help.

Corrections and Modifications

This release also includes the following corrections and modifications:

You can now create a range of Agent Logins with 7-digit values. Previously, in Configuration Manager, if you entered a starting range value longer than six digits, the following error message was displayed Value must be between 0-999999. (ER#s 226834764, 227248345)

Configuration Manager now successfully creates a new T-Server with a secured port and high-availablity (HA) synchronization. Previously, Configuration Manager terminated without creating the T-Server. (ER# 176872983)

New in This Release

This release is under shipping control. This section describes new features that were introduced in the initial 8.0 release of Configuration Manager.

• Configuration Manager now supports the new configuration object Voice Platform Profiles for the Genesys Voice Platform (GVP) Solution.
  
  
• You are no longer limited to 255 characters in defining flexible option values in the Options and Annex tabs of configuration objects. You may now enter up to 4 Kb of text.

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

The value in the Reconnect Timeout field, on the Server Info tab in the Properties of Configuration Server, resets to zero (0) after Configuration Server restarts. (ER# 225377721)

The field Host Certificate in the Application Properties dialog box is not updated dynamically when the certificate of the corresponding Host changes. (ER# 104513195)

An empty string is displayed instead of WFM Daemon in the Configuration Manager menu Wizard > New menu if Configuration Manager is running version 7.5 or earlier. (ER# 121245024)
