Introduction

As of February 1, 2012, Genesys is no longer an affiliate of Alcatel-Lucent; any indication of such affiliation within Genesys products or packaging is no longer applicable. Please see the Genesys website at http://www.genesyslab.com for more details.

This release note applies to all 8.0 releases of T-Server Common Part (TSCP) listed in the Contents, above.

• Links in the Contents section enable you to access information regarding a specific release. Releases are listed by version number rather than in date order. For this reason, a recent release may be listed after earlier releases, if the version number is lower. Except when otherwise noted in the information for a specific release, each release includes all of the features and corrections that were introduced for the applicable operating system at earlier dates, regardless of the version numbering.
• The Release Number table lists the supported operating systems for each release at a high level. For more detailed information, see the Genesys Supported Operating Environment Reference Manual.
• The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected.
• The Corrections and Modifications section for each release may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues.
• The Discontinued Support section is cumulative. It lists functionality that is no longer supported and the release number of the version in which support was discontinued.

When completing a single-step transfer in a multi-site environment using the ISCC transaction type pullback, T-Server now correctly propagates the ReferenceID attribute in EventReleased only to the client that originated the request. Previously, T-Server propagated ReferenceID in EventReleased to all its clients. (ER# 275935538)

T-Server no longer becomes unstable if a new connection to it is configured in a client application and then immediately removed (in the Configuration Layer), while T-Server is still processing data related to the added connection. (ER# 288600103)

In an environment where a premise T-Server is connected to load-balanced Network T-Servers, the premise T-Server now correctly propagates user data related to a multi-site call originating from the premise T-Server and received by one of the Network T-Servers after a transaction using the dnis-pool transaction type. Previously, the premise T-Server sometimes propagated user data to a Network T-Server different from the one that actually received the call. (ER# 289419508)

HA T-Server or SIP Server no longer becomes unstable in an environment where a new application object is created with a connection to the running HA T-Server or SIP Server. This issue was applicable only to HA deployments, and could occur in any of the following scenarios:

• If an application created in the manner above was deleted from the configuration environment while HA T-Server or SIP Server was running.
• If a connection to HA T-Server or SIP Server was deleted from the application created in the manner above, while HA T-Server in question was running.
• If one of the HA T-Servers or SIP Servers was stopped via Solution Control Server (SCS) after the client's application and its connections were created dynamically.

Primary and backup T-Servers now run correctly according to their roles if, during a switchover, the primary and backup T-Servers get disconnected, and the connection is then restored for both. Previously in this scenario, the backup T-Server incorrectly notified its clients that its role changed to primary while it remained running in backup mode. (ER# 268718801)

After a T-Server switchover, T-Server client applications now perform their functions correctly, if either primary or backup T-Server applications are not added to the Connections tab in the corresponding T-Server client configuration. When the resource-allocation-mode option is set to circular, T-Server now correctly allocates resources in a circular manner within each epn partition (known to T-Server by the partition name provided in the epn option in the Annex tab of any access resource DN). Previously, T-Server allocated resources in a circular manner in a combined list of resources belonging to all partitions, which could result in a biased selection within any particular partition. When T-Server receives a TUnregisterAddress request for a DN of type VSP (TAddressTypeVSP), T-Server now correctly sends an EventUnregistered message to its client. Previously, T-Server mistakenly sent EventUnregistered in response to any request associated with this type of DN. This issue occurred in T-Server Common Part version 8.0.100.12 and later. The resource-allocation-mode option, when it is set to circular, now works as documented. This option specifies the manner in which T-Server allocates resources (that is, DNs of the External Routing Point type and Access Resources with the Resource Type set to dnis) for multi-site transaction requests. Previously, external routing resources were not allocated in a circular manner. (ER# 259612411)

In multi-site scenarios controlled by URS, when URS issues a TGetAccessNumber request, and upon receiving a response, completes call routing to the destination site, T-Server now correctly generates an EventCallDataChanged message containing AttributeISLinkList for the origination site. When ISCC/COF and ISCC Transaction Monitoring are in effect, T-Server now correctly destroys Target COF transactions and no longer allocates excessive memory while processing ISCC/COF scenarios. (ER# 256288371)

T-Server now reads and reloads a large number of configured Access Number Codes more efficiently, without disrupting its normal operation. Previously, while reading the codes at startup and after reconnecting to Configuration Server or Configuration Proxy and the subsequent configuration data reloading, T-Server would stop processing messages from a CTI link, which resulted in T-Server disconnection. (ER# 235140800)

T-Server now no longer grows in memory while operating in primary mode and processing multi-site call scenarios using Event Propagation (the use-data-from configuration option is set to current). Previously, under such conditions, T-Server utilized excessive memory. (ER# 247530591)

Rapid call overflow between partitions processed by ISCC/COF no longer leads to stuck calls. (ER# 228367997)

• Enhanced ISCC Transaction Monitoring support. T-Server now supports new key-value pairs in AttributeExtensions with ISCC transaction data requested using TGetAccessNumber in the following requests: TMakeCall, TRouteCall, TSingleStepTransfer, TInitiateTransfer, TInitiateConference, and TMuteTransfer.
• Enhanced Agent Reservation support. T-Server now supports Agent Reservation failure optimization, to ensure that only agent reservation requests with the highest priority level are collected. This functionality can now be controlled with the collect-lower-priority-requests configuration option. See your T-Server Deployment Guide for details.
• New log events introduced. T-Server now supports new log events to notify of failed routing attempts, provide bandwidth monitoring on a CTI link, and notify the Genesys Management Layer when Configuration Layer limits are exceeded.

Refer to Framework 8.0 Combined Log Events Help for information about the log events.

• Real-time SDN licenses query support. T-Server can now report how many SDN licenses are currently available and in use, using the following key-value pairs in AttributeExtensions in EventServerInfo messages: sdn-licenses-in-use and sdn-licenses-available.
• Enhanced multi-site support for switch partitioning and smart trunks. T-Server now supports deployments of several T-Servers on one physical switch (logical switch partitioning) or on several switches interconnected with smart trunks. This functionality is limited to external routing (ISCC) and to the Alcatel A4400/OXE switch.
• Enhanced multi-site support for CallType propagation. T-Server now supports a CallType attribute propagation in multi-site deployments. This functionality can now be controlled with the propagated-call-type configuration option. See your T-Server Deployment Guide for details.

Corrections and Modifications

This release includes the following corrections and modifications that were made between release 7.6 or earlier releases and the initial 8.0 release:

In a multi-site environment with switch partitioning or intelligent trunks, enabling the ISCC/Event Party Propagation (ISCC/EPP) feature no longer results in duplicate EventPartyAdded, EventPartyChanged, and EventPartyDeleted messages. (ER# 92590894)

T-Server now reports ThirdPartyDN and ThirdPartyDNRole attributes in EventPartyChanged and EventPartyDeleted messages in conference scenarios where the use-data-from configuration option is set to consult-user-data. (ER# 65234671)

T-Servers now properly handle multi-site call scenarios in which a transfer or conference is completed while routing of a consultation call to a remote site is in progress. Previously, under a race condition, T-Server sometimes used an incorrect ConnID attribute, which resulted in a multi-site call routing failure. (ER# 207514361)

T-Server no longer propagates events for a call that is incorrectly associated with an earlier unsuccessfully routed call. (ER# 183326831)

Known Issues and Recommendations

This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product.

Applicable only to HA deployments. HA T-Server or SIP Server may become unstable in an environment where a new application object is created with a connection to the running HA T-Server or SIP Server. This can occur in any of the following scenarios:

• If an application created in the manner above is deleted from the configuration environment while HA T-Server or SIP Server is running.
• If a connection to HA T-Server or SIP Server is deleted from the application created in the manner above, while HA T-Server in question is running.
• If one of the HA T-Servers or SIP Servers is stopped via Solution Control Server (SCS) after the client's application and its connections are created dynamically.

When processing a Network Attended Transfer/Conference scenario, T-Server may not distribute ISCCEventNetworkServiceStatus messages to all premise T-Servers that are participating in this scenario. (ER# 235869531)

The backup T-Server in Hot Standby mode may utilize excessive memory (under 100 bytes per call) when a synchronization message for a new call arrives from the primary T-Server after the backup T-Server has received information about the call via its CTI link. If a performance monitor confirms memory growth, Genesys recommends restarting the backup T-Server during off-peak hours. (ER# 250604784)

T-Server does not report the ConnID attribute in EventCallDataChanged and EventCallDeleted messages. (ER# 238266219)

T-Server may apply dynamic changes for string array options incorrectly. Genesys recommends restarting T-Server for string array options changes to take effect. (ER# 226981917)

The startup time of T-Server may be significantly increased in an environment in which more than 100 External Routing Points are configured. (ER# 235140800)

Rapid call overflow between partitions processed by ISCC/COF may lead to stuck calls. (ER# 228367997)

Note: The ISCC/COF functionality between partitions or over smart trunks is reserved for Genesys engineering.

The default value of the protocol option in the backup-sync section does not allow an HA connection through a secure port. Change its value to simple or addp. (ER# 232762101)

When obtaining a version of T-Server, an incorrect version (8.0.100.11) of Configuration Server Library will be displayed. The correct Configuration Server Library version for TSCP 8.0.001.15 is 8.0.100.14. (ER# 235208951)

T-Server may use External Routing Points configured as out of service. (ER# 234843671)

If the Client-Side Port Definition feature is enabled during T-Server installation, at startup time T-Server will report warning messages in its log regarding command-line parameters related to this feature. Ignore these messages.

The value of all-calls of the ani-distribution configuration option must be used only when requested by Genesys Technical Support.

If a TNetworkConsult request is made while a previously initiated TNetworkConsult operation is still in progress, and the second request specifies a different destination DN than the first request, subsequent EventNetworkCallStatus messages will report incorrect values for AttributeNetworkOrigDN and AttributeNetworkDestDN. (ER# 15366731)
