What's New

This release contains the following new feature or enhancement:

  • New SNMP implementation: SCS now supports Net-SNMP, a third-party tool, to implement SNMP in Genesys software. Net-SNMP can be used in parallel with, or instead of, Genesys SNMP Master Agent, and provides all of the functionality of the latter.

Use the following new configuration option in the SNMP Master Agent Application object to indicate how SCS is to treat this SNMP Master Agent object; as a Genesys SNMP Master Agent or a Net-SNMP Master Agent.

    [snmp]
    netsnmp-enable
    Default Value: false
    Valid Values: true, false
    Changes Take Effect: After restart

When set to true, Net-SNMP is enabled in this SNMP Master Agent object. If this option is not set, or set to false (the default), SCS and LCA will treat this object as a Genesys SNMP Master Agent.

For detailed information about deploying and using Net-SNMP in your system, refer to the Framework Deployment Guide and to the Framework Management Layer User's Guide. To migrate to Net-SNMP, refer to the Management Framework Migration Guide.

Resolved Issues

This release contains the following resolved issues:

To configure Genesys SNMP Master Agent Application objects in an HA pair, configure the Redundancy Type as Hot Standby. In this case, both the primary and backup Genesys SNMP Master Agents will be displayed as Primary. SCS tries to select the Genesys SNMP Master Agent application that is configured as primary; if that is not reachable, it selects the application that is configured as backup. (MFWK-17159)

The output of the mlcmd command –getallappstatus is now consistent with that generated by SCS logs. Previously, the two outputs contained the same total number of applications, but the listed applications were different. (MFWK-17125)

When a large number of applications are configured and launched on the same host, SCS now displays the proper state of those applications that are connecting to the host for the first time or to restore a lost connection. Previously in this scenario, some of those applications were displayed as having an Unknown state. (MFWK-17021)
