Migration Steps from LFMT 8.1.240.xx to 8.1.250.xx

The following four major components exist in the LFMT application system. The steps for migration for each component have been highlighted, as applicable.

LFMT GAX Plugin (Client Component)

  1. Stop the GAX application that hosts the LFMT plug-in
  2. Go to the existing LFMT GAX plug-in location <GAX_HOME>/webapps/gax/WEB-INF/lib
  3. Delete the .jar files associated with LFMT version 8.1.240.XX from the above location.
  4. Proceed installing the LFMT Client version 8.1.250.xx following the steps of the installer (or as mentioned in the installation document).

LFMT Indexer and other binaries (Server Components)

No action is required for LFMT server components. Proceed with installing the LFMT Server version 8.1.250.xx following the steps of the installer (or as mentioned in the installation chapter).

Important
If the location of LFM_HOME changes, be sure update the system environment variable and restart the LFMT host.

LFMT Database Component

LFMT Version 8.1.250.XX requires the user to complete a new log file index database. Existing log file index databases cannot be upgraded.

LFMT Configuration (configuration options in the Configuration Server)

Add and modify the following options in the LFMT confirguation options

  1. Mirror the value of the following two options
    • absolute_prod_folder_name
    • absolute_temp_folder_name
  2. Create the following options in the app_config section of the LFMT configuration:
    • pk_location – Set the value for this option as the location of the private key for the user that starts the GAX application. Please refer to the Configuration Options Chapter
    • reduce_bandwidth_usage – Set the value for this option to true. Please refer to the Configuration Options Chapter
  3. (Optional) Create the following options in the cfg_srv_n section of the LFMT configuration:
    • backuphostip – Set the value for this option as the IP address of the backup Configuration Server. Please refer to the Configuration Options Chapter
    • backuphostport – Set the value for this option as the port of the backup Configuration Server. Please refer to the Configuration Options Chapter
